1960 modernist house - exterior colours suggestions??

Hello, I am not sure which colours to paint the exterior trim... The mission brown timber and downpipes is peeling and needs refreshing. Large cream panels under back windows need repainting too. Most timber windows and carport screen would stay whisper white. Some windows are unfortunately 1990s bronze look aluminium. Not sure if I could paint those...

Open to suggestions for front door too! Roof is colorbond "Bushland". I'd prefer to keep the blonde brick - simply easy to maintain.

Would love any ideas for the trim?? Am thinking either a dark greyish green, or perhaps white?

I to, would choose black on all the trim and repaint the white windows black as well. Aluminium windows can be painted. It is a process but doable.

I just think it needs more bright white trim around the windows and the fence painted also white. Going round to the back addition, I would paint the timber boards the color of the stucco, trim white and get some great deck furniture and lighting.

Personally , I think the main colour is fine , the crisp white on the poles and most of the terrace is fine -- the two different 'sandy khahki' shades ( the window surrounds , and the planter ) looks out of date . I'd do both of them in charcoal , as well as the terrace base board and the upstairs downpipes . It looks like the barge board and the veranda are already a charcoal -- if not , then darken them up too . The mid grey on the steps etc is fine as is , it's hard to see in the photos but the front door looks like it might be a nice solid wooden one -- again , thats fine to me , but I'd do the door surround in a crisp white to make it more noticeable . The other brighter option would be to do the window surrounds , the door surround , the top barge board including the gables , the terrace base and probably the terrace top rail -- all in a bright sunshine yellow !

Wanting to paint the exterior of our house, located on the Northern Beaches in NSW. Unable to change the window frames that are a bronze aluminium, not my choice but need to live with it. Suggestions of paint colours that would co-ordinate well with the bronze would be greatly appreciated. Current house pic (included in post).

I agree , go dark on your trims, look beautiful with the blonde bricks, you can paint metal windows, we used Dulux weathershield on our old house windows and they looked fabulous, still looking good after many years.

Thanks for the suggestion Julie. Did you have sliding aluminium windows? I am worried the sliding action might make the paint peel off, but at this stage I figure it's worth a go.

Yes they were sliding windows, no problem with the paint at all, just make sure you use a really good exterior paint, we were recommended Dulux and it really was a great choice, you have a great house.

I'd do a 'twist' on everyone else's suggestion -- like them , I'd go charcoal for the trim , especially the 70's panel that looks down on the pool , it would look great with the lighter brick and roof .

BUT I'm assuming the entrance door is white with a couple of glass panels ( I can't tell if thats the door , or a reflection in a glass panel ) -- if it is that , then a brighter sunnier colour ( red / yellow / orange ) for the door , and maybe 30-40mm around the roofline -- whether its the boards , the gutters -- basically get up there and see if theres anything that is about that width . You are bringinging in a splash of colour , but also breaking the 2 lighter colours and making them visually seperate , plus maybe its just me , white with black highlights looks great , but it gets a bit much if thats all you have .

Oh , and one other alternate suggestion -- if the budget streteches , replacing that 1 1/2 storey window ( or even a dark tinted glass panel 'over' it ) in several pieces of glass and larger chunkier charcoal aluminium framing , would change the whole look and look way more modern ( the other end of your place with the smaller , higher windows already has that vibe ) and would be a good investment IMO .

Thanks for your ideas. Funnily enough I just discovered bright tangerine orange paint underneath the mission brown on the original 1960s laundry door! now am tempted to colour match that for a bit of fun
