What do you think of these artwork?

Hi there, I'm a screen printer and I have been making these artworks, based on sketches of my friend who's a fashion design student...I just thought they look cool. can any interior pros here tell me what they think about them pls and if they might have a market somewhere?

A4, Screen printed on 5mm thick foamcore, placed in frame.

Not a pro. I quite like them and think they’d be appealing for a dressing room or teenager room. Even a retail space. My expertise isn’t marketing but I follow artists I like on Instagram so see if that’s an option. There is also Etsy (and you could offer digital downloads which are very popular) but it can be a congested market.

Cute and quirky, imo. Also not a pro, but wearing my business hat: work out your break even cost (make sure you add a fair but decent hourly rate for ALL your time and count all your expenses including running a business costs). Add on what you think is a fair mark up - the stress of running a business deserves additional payment! Consider your marketing options: online as bigreader mentioned; markets; local art / craft collectives; local home decor stores; a mix? All come with time or additional costs in time, fees or commissions. Now google comparable items, visit the markets and stores and see what is selling and at what price. Call in on a midweek day and speak to the store managers. Start small, don’t buy any expensive equipment or create a large stockpile until you’re established, but start now if you decide to go ahead. Depending on where you are with the purchase decision, get a book on home inspections, which will list all potential issues and how you can spot possible problems. Bring along a friend or family member with experience. Once you've decided to buy, get a good inspector and spring for any extras he recommends. (We were recommended to get someone to send video up the chimneys, which turned out to be unlined and not particularly safe). We bought a house in good shape, but thanks to our inspection report, negotiated down the price based on a number of items that needed to be fixed that we didn't see, but our inspector did. For stuff like the chimneys, which didn't get negotiated down, we had an estimate. Many things will be clues as to how well the house has been maintained and upgraded over the years. Have the electrics been redone? When? What about the heating? Or the roof? The house looks pristine, but you want to know if the house has been care fully and lovingly maintained over the years, or just recently painted for resale. The bath shower arrangement, for example, is strange. What happened to the shower curtain rod? Was there a miserable moldy -- or worse yet, rotting --- bathroom that got fixed up and they didn't put the curtain rod back because a quick sale was more important than doing a good job. It's great if someone else took care of headaches so you don't have to, but make sure they did a good job. Ask questions about the history of the house and its updates. Unless there's another serious buyer who sounds like he'll buy at the asking price now, honest sellers will be happy to answer questions.

I saw the neutral tones with beige/peach accents and thought -- color! I did a screen capture and put in my painting, Child of Eden, because the greens interacted so well with the room. (Not sure about the size ratio -- the framed picture is 30 x 26.) As a fine artist, I tell my clients -- when you choose artwork for your home, the most important thing to look for is what you like, and what makes you smile -- and it will fit into any color scheme you choose, simply because you love it. When we start over-focusing on matching the color scheme, we risk buying something for the color scheme first, and our liking it second. Both you, and the artwork in your home, deserve better than that.

Thank you so much for responding! Where do you think I should put table/lamps? And what color? This is the front space of the couch I was thinking of putting a flatscreen tv on the wall? If I was to paint this room to suit the furnishings what color? Thank you :) also I have mini bookshelves right across the painting I was thinking of putting 2 led sized bean bags there instead?

Nice reno :) Few things imo... don't think you need any artwork next to the hexagonal mirror, it could get too busy, if you're after a more balanced look I would move the chest of drawers & mirror to the left more centered on the wall, then relocate the white rack to the other side near the door in place of where the bin is now, not sure the bin should be a feature and be the first thing you see when entering the room, if the drawers have moved that far corner may now be better for the bin... yes the wall above the bed definitely needs some artwork, which I think should be as wide as or wider than the bed, if a large artwork is too costly maybe three squares alongside each other to create the width, stick with the style of the room (can't quite work it out) and pick colours to complement the more permanent fixtures like the blinds rather than colours from the bed linen etc which will change

I presonally don't think they are the kind of art I'd put on a wall , unless I knew the person , if that makes sense . They look more like advertising or comic characters -- a company may commission you to create a new 'personae' they can use say instore and on-line . I have no idea how you'd promote that .

If you are a screenprinter , maybe start your own brand of T shirts or similar -- think of a logo and some phrases , print them up , sell online ?
