How to position my bed
Hi everyone,
Looking for advise on how to design our master bedroom. We are trying to avoid our bed placing next to the entry door for privacy and quietness. However that is the only wall without window and doors.
- If bed is placing at the left wall, the window is ok as there are at the top not full height window. However, we are sleeping in front of ensuite door which we don't like too. Not sure if partition looks wired and making whole bedroom looks small?
- If placing at the south wall, we are sleeping in front of a big window. The window is full height large window and we are blocking of the view.
We were thinking to make the ensuite door became a wall and enter from WIR, but it looks too squeezy. Important is if ensuite need to repair then all my clothes will became dirty or have to empty everything.
Does anyone has a better idea? All ideas are appreciate.

Comments (6)Any rod will work that does not have decorative finials. A U shaped rod. I would prefer sheers and drapery that go to the floor. But you can use what you have also. A roman shade can take the place of the sheers and mounted inside the frame. You can use ring clips for the drapes for easy opening and closing. Comments (19)Hello, I don't what to say, I'm really surprised by your generosity and how much time you have put in this for me you. Thank you so much. The kids bathroom design is still up in air too. Their rooms will have windows of course ( silly me ). I love what you have done with the family room. I'm not so sure about the master ensuite. We copied it from the Hyatt hotel where we stayed a couple of months ago( they had 2 sinks though), we loved the fact that the whole family kids adults and pets can take a shower bath together. That's why we liked the tub bath combo enclosure. Your comments about the steam and aroma are very valid that's why I think we will need to have 3 extract fans in there. Comments (2)First of all, you should change the door swing from Left hand to Right hand, so you walk into a room not the wall. Put the bed where the dresser is now and the dresser on the other wall. Comments (3)Joanna Gains style is fun! What you choose for lighting and surfaces will determine the amount of reflective light in your stairway. The Architect is right in what he is suggesting "a decorative wall" could bring more light into the space. I believe you could apply this on principle....for example you could do a feature "Architectural Mirror"or lots of mirrors on the wall in the right position to reflect light in "Joanna Gain style" then in the same style add an eye catching pendant or wall lights depending on what is best functionally. Remember what you use on the ceiling & walls is important too every surface counts for your situation. Try a satin finish with a cool white like Dulux "St Clair Quarter" or Resene "Black White" Maybe Nancy's suggestions of a skylight is an option for your situation if it allows ? last yearI suggest the following, you could move the door 1 to door 2 position away from the bottom of what looks like a new staircase and keep the bed on the same wall as in the photo, or add a nib wall for the bed to back up against. I have shown a QB
