Something along the lines of this…

It doesn't look like enough space for a hanging chair.  They tend to sway when people get on them and I think your knees would hit the railing

You will have to locate the roof beams in the eaves. You would then attach the chairs hanging attachments to the beams. You would not attach the hanging attachments to the plasterboard in your eaves.

And most chair hammocks have a central hanging point. Using your diagram, how would you attach the chair to the two roof beam anchor points if the chair has a central hanging point. You may need a steel beam installed diagonally across the corner.

Yes I had a diagonal wood/steel beam in mind if I get a central hanging chair but wasn’t too sure on what part of the roof I would attach it to. Knowing now that it has to be a roof beam, how hard or easy is it to find one?

You would remove the plaster board sheeting from your eaves and find the roof beams.

Can I also say, that what you would like to do does not seem a good option from a health and safety perspective. There are too many things that could go wrong without a professional to install this for you. And you need a steel beam. A wood beam will get weather damage and may break. And how would you attach it to the roof beams if you didn’t even know how to locate the beams........................A freestanding egg chair would be a wiser choice.

I understand what you are saying. It’s just that I don’t want to kill this view when seeing from inside. And can remove it when I don’t use it. Said that what you say makes sense. I have renovation happening soon and might use the tradesmen to help me install a cross metal beam..

I think the chair itself is going to affect the view - more so than the method of hanging. I have a freestanding chair in front of a window like you and have never thought about changing it to a suspended chair. I can move it around to catch or avoid the sun etc

Agree with rocksfam. The size of the chair is the same in both instances. You can move the stand alone chair inside during winter months.

I think the solution might lie somewhere in between. Most of the hanging chairs i have found are the bulky cane ones which takes up a lot of space inside if i store it. Something foldable like the images above used with a stand might work..
