New open plan kitchen colour help
Comments (1)Teal sounds beautiful for your splashback, I love vibrant and bright colours in the kitchen - you never see them enough! I think your worries are right as well, dark carpet and a dark bench would be too much darkness - a lighter benchtop would work well with the other colours! Marble is a classic for benchtops, but depending on how you did the wood, it wouldn't look fake at all! What did you decide on doing?...See MoreKitchen Plan Advice

If you would like a few idea's on how to make your new kitchen practical you can have a look at DYNAMIC SPACE - Blum's ideas for practical kitchens online or I can send you a print or PDF brochure. Comments (0)Our clients were a young couple with a growing family, who wanted to modernise their home and incorporate the kitchen with the outside entertaining area, to create more of an indoor-outdoor flow. They had their own builder and contractors who removed the wall but hired All About Kitchens to work with them to design the kitchen of their dreams. Before: We created a sleek handless kitchen, with push to open bottom drawers, an integrated dishwasher, black stainless steel sinks and gooseneck taps, and negative detail 20mm Caesar Stone benchtop. They had visited our showroom in Petone, where they were inspired by a similar display but with integrated lighting. After: They liked the idea of breaking up the kitchen colour by adding the woodgrain look and have incorporated pull-out fittings in the corner for ease of access, oil pull near the stove, and built-in bin units. Their preference was drawers over cupboards, and to fully utilise the drawer height we used internal drawers for cutlery and utensils. After: They required a large walk-in pantry with a sliding door that would also house the microwave. These clients have been great to work with and have been very patient with some of the supply delays due to Covid. They are so happy with the final result and it's such a timeless design that they can enjoy it for a lifetime. Check out the entire projecthere!...See MoreTips for Clever Storage in a Kitchen
Comments (0)Our clients came to us with a kitchen that hadn't been touched since the early 70s and required a complete renovation which included opening it up to the dining and lounge areas to create an open living plan with great flow to the exterior. The home also was surrounded by stunning views that the clients wanted to maximise. Before: The main working bench faced out to the view, and was on the large island, with a porcelain bench being a hard-wearing durable choice. This was combined with a granite feature benchtop which provided a focal point as you walked into the space, and played with different heights to break up the large surfaces. Extra storage in the form of toe kick drawers were added to the design, and storage was maximised to full height. After: Corners are notoriously tricky storage areas, and getting easy access to these requires a good product. My favourite is the Hafele Le Mans unit and in this kitchen project it provides a great alternative solution to having to reach into those dark spaces. If you need some extra space to stash your cash....hide the cookies from the grandies, or storage over sized platters, a hidden toekick draw is the answer. The Blum system is smooth running and can take a good amount of weight. After: The theme for the space was industrial luxury, and the black cabinetry with the aged brass handles and tapware created a moody, yet time-honoured aesthetic. We are also excited to share that this kitchen is a Finalist in the2022 TIDA New Zealand Kitchens Awards Check out the entire project here, as well as a walk-through!
