I need help choosing an exterior colour scheme
Comments (8)Hi, I know there are so many things to take into account and it's hard to get perspective from a photo. The white you can see is an extension with building paper, and the red is the existing building which is two story. The exterior is wide weatherboard planking, the windows are silver aluminium with very little trim. The doors in the front of the picture are French doors from bedrooms that will open to an enclosed courtyard ( yet to be built of course) The roof will be a light grey/brown but you won't see it much because of the flat roof style. There will be decking and ballustrades covering half of the new extension....See MoreI need help with the color schemes for my house exterior
Comments (5)I would like a warm mushroomy gray with darker brown/charcoal for the trim and window framing. Also, trim the bushes out front so we can see where the front door is......See MoreColour of curtains advice
Comments (0)Hello Fellow Houzz community, I need help with making these curtains not seem so purple. The material is a white with a slight tinge of purple. You cant really tell if its a bright sunny day but on an overcast day it casts a purple tinge. Any ideas how I can lessen the purple look and bring out more of a white/grey color. Anyone know anything about color schemes? Lighting ideas? Thanks!...See MoreSeeking suggestions for a new colour scheme.
Comments (10)An old post , so sort of sorry to revive it ! The lighter shade looks a lot better , but something doesn't gel with me -- it looks like a beautiful Million Dollar house , let down by someone trying to save $10k . IF it was my place , the 2 things I would do is change ( or hide ) the round pillars , and the relatively cheap looking brickwork . I'd go for quality stonework in place of the brickwork , and carry the theme through to the pillars -- probably 'squaring' the pillars . In fact , I personally don't like the slightly strange 'extra' pillars -- I'd try to 'cut back' to 4 pillars , in a quality natural stone . Once I had done those 2 'improvements' , I'd sand back and restain a darker brown the entrance doors and surrounds -- that golden look screams 1980's IMO . I realise they tie in with the existing colours , but I'd want to get away from that look . Maybe I'm strange . . . . . . ....See MoreJulie Herbert
