Assume the tinting would be on the west, east and maybe north sides only. Tinting does not change the colour of the room, it will lesson the heat coming into your home through the windows. If you want large windows, and views from those windows, especially if they are facing west, then do as has been advised. You will not get your energy rating, therefore your home will not get passed. Have you considered external louvres or similar…..probably not if you want to see through the house. I have had tinting on my west windows and make a huge difference.

Tinting also comes in different shades and colours. You need to go see samples. I’m not keen on the darkest tints . Tinting will also have UV protection benefits for your interiors

I got the whole house tinted in our last place. It was fantastic. You can get different levels of tint - whoever you get will bring samples. I opted for a very light tint but it was more than effective. It’s was inexpensive and really helped maintain cool downstairs in our house particularly.

All our windows have a tint that’s not at all obvious, barely noticeable in fact. It added to our energy rating and is also great for privacy (you have to be standing very close to be able to see in, unless it’s night and the light is on of course). As Bec suggested, go speak to the supplier. You’ll be pleasantly surprised I think.
