Thank you, yes we are still keeping both areas seperate and not completely open, and just with a small walkway to the kitchen area. And yes we are renovating the bathroom. Any ideas?

agree with Kate that you best preserve zoning and privacy. Depending on your needs / family etc I'd be trying to maintain separate living spaces but maybe flip and make the front area the main living and the family room more like a kids/rumpus and completely shut off the kitchen but reconfigure for better amenity and potential servery to terrace and a breakfast bar extension in the Living. I'd consider widening the passage by a few hundred mm - would make a big difference to the feel of it....You could relocate master bedroom door to the entry for more separation and reclaim some width by putting the passage into the main space but keeping the corridor between the two zones. Bathroom reno's to taste but for the purpose of cost efficiency and practicality probably best to keep in current/similar format and have a separate toilet but maybe add a basin to it

Have you information as to which walls are load bearing? I would check that before settling on any changes.

Dimensions are hard to read plus aren't decimal. and because you are re doing the bathroom perhaps something like this would work, Laundry to be worked yet. Knowing aspect also helps

For the bathroom/laundry area, you could consider adding a half-wall or a sliding door to create separation without closing off the space completely. If you’re going for a more modern look, maybe a frosted glass partition could give some privacy while still keeping the space feeling open.
