I say yes, it is! I can relate 100%. We are building a new home, and I've been doing most of the selections & meetings. I've been looking at paint chips, rugs, fabric swatches and furniture until I'm blue in the face. I think it's ok to take a step back and not have every last loose end or finish choice buttoned up immediately. Give yourself permission to take a mental break from it and come back to it later. Wow! What an incredible view you have! I think you first need to frame it out. I would suggest changing out the carpet with hardwood floors with a worn or weathered look. Definitely get rid of the plastic and replace with white base moulding. Next I would paint the walls a color in the pale grey or grey/blue family. Next, I would suggest some crisp white sheers to frame each window. In the pictures, it looks like the Windows on the right are two windows wide. If so, I would also place panels in the middle of those 2 windows to continue framing the view. These are for decorative purposes only and not intended to distract from the view. It looks like there is a big space between two of the windows. I would locate a large architectural piece to place on that wall to add some interest. Remove all the small items from the window ledges. Finally, I would love a round table in that space. Good luck with your reno!

My partner and I are designing our new build and we are now up to lighting, in particular kitchen lighting. We are having non-exposed scissor trusses in the living area with a lowered flat ceiling (2.4m stud) over the kitchen. Do we need pendant lighting? I am torn. I feel they are dust and grease gatherers, but also a great visual feature. I have attached a picture of our plan and inspiration for the living area. I am extremely grateful for any advice!

Changing out my pendant lights dramatically changed my kitchen for the better. The slim modern horizontal shapes made the room feel wider and the colour changed the colour of the wood grain finish of the cabinets.
