Help choosing a free standing gas log fire

Hi,
I would like some help to choose a free standing gas log fire.
I want to put it in the corner where the taller cabinet is. I am standing in this corner for the second photo looking into the family/meals/ kitchen area. The corner i want it is the other side of the laundry in the plans.
The reason i am looking at a gas fireplace is because when my house was built they installed a ducted electric split system. It just does not heat this area enough and it gets cold when I am watching TV. The area is open plan and I am in the draft of the from front door to back door. All my windows are double glazed.
I am after something more contemporary than traditional but not too modern so it will go out of fashion.
I am also unsure of the best brand. I see mixed reviews when I google.
Advice would be appreciated.

    Hi Kylieac71,
We put a nectre freestanding gas log fire in recently. I think it looks great and puts out good heat.
When you choose your location make sure you know what’s in the roof space & roof at that point if you want the flue to be straight. It needs to avoid beams, roof hips etc.
