Split complementary - Pink, blue and some slight green in this room bring the split complementary vibe perfectly. Split complementary means to use 2 similar colors and 1 color that is complementary to the both of them. Blue and green are fairly close on the color wheel, meaning that they bring the same vibe and aesthetic to the room. However, bringing in the color pink completely changes the room, in the best way. The pink complements the blue and green enormously and really brings together the soft and pastel look.

A complementary color scheme means to use 2 colors that rival each other on the color wheel. In the room pictured above, the colors clash in the most beautiful way that makes them stand out. I think this is a very safe option for color, we know that these colors will have no trouble working with each other. For example, the room above might even resembles a rainforest, just as it would in nature.
Monochromatic - A monochromatic color scheme means to use only 1 main color in a room and its only variations are different hues, such as adding some white or black. This room is all one color, purple. Each item might vary in hue or a slight difference in shade, but it is all one color. It makes the room feel safe while not being too over the top.
Low key - The opposite of low key. Dark browns and warm grays with the occasional pop of white or cool grays. These colors make the room very modern and work well in rooms such as the theater room pictured above.
