The window extends about a foot out, a subtle bay window. I ran the granite counter top all the way out to the sill, skipped the apron and ran the casing straight down to the granite. I strongly suggest this if you can manage it. Really brings the outdoors in and gives it a very crisp and clean finished look.
It's difficult to see in this photo but there are outlets behind the oranges embedded in the subway tiles and on the other side, the space hidden behind the tall vase sitting on the island."
