This probably most closely resembles the sizes and shelving style I'm looking for, but not the rock on the wall.

I like the slab on the floor under the fireplace, the stone, and the TV mounted above the mantel. But not the colors - give me some warmth!!
I kind of like the hearth to sit on... since we have such a small room. The wall arrangement is interesting too.

Here is a simple shelf mantel - it doesn't have to be connected all around and down to the floor.
