The warm wood and textured walls make this spec home remodel feel so much more comfortable and inviting. And I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the client's magnet collection!

White porcelain farm style sink dominates your counter. Black granite on white sink snaps the contrast. The cabinetry with light finish doesn't interfere or steal any attention. Beadboard walls continue the Shaker farmhouse style.

The refrigerator and dishwasher were both hidden behind panels to create a more cohesive look and feel. We wanted to avoid calling attention to a large appliance and chose to keep the continuity and warmth of the natural cherry cabinets. The dishwasher was raised to alleviate any further damage to the homeowner's back, thus creating the split-level soapstone counter.

This storm grey kitchen on Cape Cod was designed by Gail of White Wood Kitchens. The cabinets are all plywood with soft close hinges made by UltraCraft Cabinetry. The doors are a Lauderdale style constructed from Red Birch with a Storm Grey stained finish. The island countertop is a Fantasy Brown granite while the perimeter of the kitchen is an Absolute Black Leathered. The wet bar has a Thunder Grey Silestone countertop. The island features shelves for cookbooks and there are many unique storage features in the kitchen and the wet bar to optimize the space and functionality of the kitchen. This couple wanted to retain the character of their existing Craftsman kitchen, while joining their kitchen and dining room by removing a non-load-bearing wall. The bead board ceiling was retained and minimal changes were made to the existing footprint. Lost cabinetry was replaced through careful design and coordination with cabinet maker Gary Frederickson.
