Getting Beyond Beige! Karen Wistrom ASID, is Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Dura Supreme and a certified Interior Designer with 20+ years of experience in the cabinetry market. featured this kitchen in her blog. Here is some of the content from that blog feature... "One of my favorite examples of a homeowner’s color scheme that was successfully worked into a kitchen makeover is this photo of a Dura Supreme kitchen designed by Barbra Bright of Barbra Bright Design in San Francisco, CA. This kitchen is a perfect example of how a customer’s favorite color can be worked into the design to create an incredibly personal and unique look. Everyone that sees this kitchen says “WOW!” and notice how the bright green paint is only used on a few doors and drawer fronts that could be changed if the homeowner eventually wanted a different look." states Wistrom. Kitchen design by Barbara Bright. Photography by McKinney Photography. Features Dura Supreme's affordable "Personal Paint Match" finish using Sherwin-Williams "Electric Lime". Our clients are a family with three young kids. They wanted to open up and expand their kitchen so their kids could have space to move around, and it gave our clients the opportunity to keep a close eye on the children during meal preparation and remain involved in their activities. By relocating their laundry room, removing some interior walls, and moving their downstairs bathroom we were able to create a beautiful open space. The LaCantina doors and back patio we installed really open up the space even more and allow for wonderful indoor-outdoor living. Keeping the historic feel of the house was important, so we brought the house into the modern era while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship to preserve the historic ambiance. The bar area with soapstone counters with the warm wood tone of the cabinets and glass on the cabinet doors looks exquisite.

This bungalow kitchen was reincarnated by removing a wall between the kitchen and dining nook. By offsetting the peninsula cabinets there is room for seating and a generous new countertop area. The dark navy cabinets and white subway tile are a classic pairing in keeping with the age of the home. The clean lines of the natural Cherry Wood Hood brings warmth and harmony with the warm wood tones of the floor.

Embracing an authentic Craftsman-styled kitchen was one of the primary objectives for these New Jersey clients. They envisioned bending traditional hand-craftsmanship and modern amenities into a chef inspired kitchen. The woodwork in adjacent rooms help to facilitate a vision for this space to create a free-flowing open concept for family and friends to enjoy. This kitchen takes inspiration from nature and its color palette is dominated by neutral and earth tones. Traditionally characterized with strong deep colors, the simplistic cherry cabinetry allows for straight, clean lines throughout the space. A green subway tile backsplash and granite countertops help to tie in additional earth tones and allow for the natural wood to be prominently displayed. The rugged character of the perimeter is seamlessly tied into the center island. Featuring chef inspired appliances, the island incorporates a cherry butchers block to provide additional prep space and seating for family and friends. The free-standing stainless-steel hood helps to transform this Craftsman-style kitchen into a 21st century treasure.

In this remodel of a very small kitchen, we designed it to claim every bit of space. The kitchen was opened up to the dining room and windows were added toward the back yard for a sense of a larger space. https://saikleyarchitects.com/portfolio/cottage-kitchen/
