The carefully chosen floor and feature wall tiles add a definite individual stamp, and allude to perhaps an art deco or retro mood. The room would be simply just another white bathroom without them. The white and black of the tiles is reflected in the selection of the white wall tiles and black tapware and accessories. The monochrome theme is then softened and made more inviting by the addition of the timber vanity with its fluted basins. The pretty mirrors are the touch of genius here, defying the straight lines elsewhere, and asserting their style on the whole. Successfully blending styles, shapes, colours and textures is the key to a result that supersedes the ordinary and says: 'This is my space'.
The right advice and professional knowhow, including correct execution (note the beautiful tiling by our talented tilers), is also essential to ensure a polished designer-look.

Our client came to us with a vision for their family dream house that offered adequate space and a lot of character. They were drawn to the traditional form and contemporary feel of a Modern Farmhouse.
MCHUGH SOLUTION:
In showing multiple options at the schematic stage, the client approved a traditional L shaped porch with simple barn-like columns. The entry foyer is simple in it's two-story volume and it's mono-chromatic (white & black) finishes. The living space which includes a kitchen & dining area - is an open floor plan, allowing natural light to fill the space.VISION AND NEEDS:

Factor Design BuildThe master bathroom is large with plenty of built-in storage space and double vanity. The countertops carry on from the kitchen. A large freestanding tub sits adjacent to the window next to the large stand-up shower. The floor is a dark great chevron tile pattern that grounds the lighter design finishes.
Kelly Scanlon Interior DesignA generic kids bathroom got a total overhaul. Those who know this client would identify the shoutouts to their love of all things Hamilton, The Musical. Aged Brass Steampunk fixtures, Navy vanity and Floor to ceiling white tile fashioned to read as shiplap all grounded by a classic and warm marbleized chevron tile that could have been here since the days of AHam himself. To create a more open and spacious layout, we expanded the room by 2 feet, shifted the door, and reconfigured the entire layout. We utilized a variety of high-quality materials to create a simple but timeless finish palette, including a custom 96” warm wood-tone custom-made vanity by Draftwood Design, Silestone Cincel Gray quartz countertops, Hexagon Dolomite Bianco floor tiles, and Natural Dolomite Bianco wall tiles.
Mavella HomeA stunning minimal primary bathroom features marble herringbone shower tiles, hexagon mosaic floor tiles, and niche. We removed the bathtub to make the shower area larger. Also features a modern floating toilet, floating quartz shower bench, and custom white oak shaker vanity with a stacked quartz countertop. It feels perfectly curated with a mix of matte black and brass metals. The simplicity of the bathroom is balanced out with the patterned marble floors.
Change Your Bathroom©This transformation started with a builder grade bathroom and was expanded into a sauna wet room. With cedar walls and ceiling and a custom cedar bench, the sauna heats the space for a relaxing dry heat experience. The goal of this space was to create a sauna in the secondary bathroom and be as efficient as possible with the space. This bathroom transformed from a standard secondary bathroom to a ergonomic spa without impacting the functionality of the bedroom.
This project was super fun, we were working inside of a guest bedroom, to create a functional, yet expansive bathroom. We started with a standard bathroom layout and by building out into the large guest bedroom that was used as an office, we were able to create enough square footage in the bathroom without detracting from the bedroom aesthetics or function. We worked with the client on her specific requests and put all of the materials into a 3D design to visualize the new space.

The layout of the bathroom needed to change to incorporate the larger wet room/sauna. By expanding the room slightly it gave us the needed space to relocate the toilet, the vanity and the entrance to the bathroom allowing for the wet room to have the full length of the new space.
This bathroom includes a cedar sauna room that is incorporated inside of the shower, the custom cedar bench follows the curvature of the room's new layout and a window was added to allow the natural sunlight to come in from the bedroom. The aromatic properties of the cedar are delightful whether it's being used with the dry sauna heat and also when the shower is steaming the space. In the shower are matching porcelain, marble-look tiles, with architectural texture on the shower walls contrasting with the warm, smooth cedar boards. Also, by increasing the depth of the toilet wall, we were able to create useful towel storage without detracting from the room significantly.
This entire project and client was a joy to work with.

In this high contrast bathroom the dark Navy Blue vanity and shower wall tile installed in chevron pattern pop off of this otherwise neutral, white space. The white grout helps to accentuate the tile pattern on the blue accent wall in the shower for more interest.
TVL Creative Ltd.This project was not only full of many bathrooms but also many different aesthetics. The goals were fourfold, create a new master suite, update the basement bath, add a new powder bath and my favorite, make them all completely different aesthetics.
Primary Bath-This was originally a small 60SF full bath sandwiched in between closets and walls of built-in cabinetry that blossomed into a 130SF, five-piece primary suite. This room was to be focused on a transitional aesthetic that would be adorned with Calcutta gold marble, gold fixtures and matte black geometric tile arrangements.
Powder Bath-A new addition to the home leans more on the traditional side of the transitional movement using moody blues and greens accented with brass. A fun play was the asymmetry of the 3-light sconce brings the aesthetic more to the modern side of transitional. My favorite element in the space, however, is the green, pink black and white deco tile on the floor whose colors are reflected in the details of the Australian wallpaper.
Hall Bath-Looking to touch on the home's 70's roots, we went for a mid-mod fresh update. Black Calcutta floors, linear-stacked porcelain tile, mixed woods and strong black and white accents. The green tile may be the star but the matte white ribbed tiles in the shower and behind the vanity are the true unsung heroes.
