Amazing Spaces
Combining an everyday hallway bathroom with the main guest bath/powder room is not an easy task. The hallway bath needs to have a lot of utility with durable materials and functional storage. It also wants to be a bit “dressy” to make house guests feel special. This bathroom needed to do both.
We first addressed its utility with bathroom necessities including the tub/shower. The recessed medicine cabinet in combination with an elongated vanity tackles all the storage needs including a concealed waste bin. Thoughtfully placed towel hooks are mostly out of sight behind the door while the half-wall hides the paper holder and a niche for other toilet necessities.
It’s the materials that elevate this bathroom to powder room status. The tri-color marble penny tile sets the scene for the color palette. Carved black marble wall tile adds the necessary drama flowing along two walls. The remaining two walls of tile keep the room durable while softening the effects of the black walls and vanity.
Rounded elements such as the light fixtures and the apron sink punctuate and carry the theme of the floor tile throughout the bathroom. Polished chrome fixtures along with the beefy frameless glass shower enclosure add just enough sparkle and contrast.

A third time client, these empty nesters wanted to modernize an outdated bathroom with bold features and a masculine look. Ann Sacks cement tile complements the floor in a vivid pattern and matte black and brass features give the look a handsome appeal. Other features in this room: Kelly Wearstler wall sconces, Erica Wakerly wallpaper in the WC, Black, iron shower doors, and Ann Sacks shower tile.

This powder room underwent an amazing transformation. From mixed matched colors to a beautiful black and gold space, this bathroom is to die for. Inside is brand new floor tiles and wall paint along with an all new shower and floating vanity. The walls are covered in a snake skin like wall paper with black wainscoting to accent. A half way was added to conceal the toilet and create more privacy. Gold fixtures and a lovely gold chandelier light up the space perfectly.
Just Basements
This basement bathroom ups the ante with a fun and graphic space that balances masculine and feminine with dark and textured tiles installed in a herringbone pattern in the steam shower and geometric black and white cement floor tiles throughout the bathroom and inside the shower. Two quartz benches and the steam shower's ample size create a spa-like environment right at home.

The wall tiles are 12" x 12" black marble tiles I had the tile installers cut into threes. Stainless steel bars that were all custom cut are at the bottom and top of the tiles. Instead of having a standard niche that fits between studs, I had the guys frame out a wider one. Above it is another niche that is short just for housing soaps and razors. Next step is the glass.
Cabinet Joint
This ebony bathroom is the perfection of a modern dream. Black cabinets don't have to feel dark and gloomy but can feel bold and beautiful when surrounded by white and with lots of light shining through.
