Aging in Place- Bathroom Renovation

Wing Wong This small bathroom was renovated using some aging in place design. We added a bench, a second handheld shower next to the bench, and used a raised height toilet. I wanted the shower to be curbless, but to keep the costs down (avoiding redoing the pitch in the floor) we had a minimum curb. The doors were widened to 36" in case my client needs to use a wheelchair. The frameless shower and beige tile and walls opened up the bathroom. The reddish orange glass vanity and upper cabinet is modern looking but full of functional storage solutions. the red/orange accent tile pulled the glass top color into the shower.

A unique combination of traditional design and an unpretentious, family-friendly floor plan, the Pemberley draws inspiration from European traditions as well as the American landscape. Picturesque rooflines of varying peaks and angles are echoed in the peaked living room with its large fireplace. The main floor includes a family room, large kitchen, dining room, den and master bedroom as well as an inviting screen porch with a built-in range. The upper level features three additional bedrooms, while the lower includes an exercise room, additional family room, sitting room, den, guest bedroom and trophy room.

When Barry Miller of Simply Baths, Inc. first met with these Danbury, CT homeowners, they wanted to transform their 1950s master bathroom into a modern, luxurious space. To achieve the desired result, we eliminated a small linen closet in the hallway. Adding a mere 3 extra square feet of space allowed for a comfortable atmosphere and inspiring features. The new master bath boasts a roomy 6-by-3-foot shower stall with a dual showerhead and four body jets. A glass block window allows natural light into the space, and white pebble glass tiles accent the shower floor. Just an arm's length away, warm towels and a heated tile floor entice the homeowners. A one-piece clear glass countertop and sink is beautifully accented by lighted candles beneath, and the iridescent black tile on one full wall with coordinating accent strips dramatically contrasts the white wall tile. The contemporary theme offers maximum comfort and functionality. Not only is the new master bath more efficient and luxurious, but visitors tell the homeowners it belongs in a resort.

This bathroom design has been made according to customer's design project. One of the greatest things about integrated sinks is that they are practical because they allow you to wipe up any countertop mess right into the sink, making it easy to clean. Choosing a glass integrated sink is even better for many more reasons. One main reason is the fact that glass, as the sink material, is non-porous, durable, and hygienic. There is nothing better than easy clean-up, especially in a bathroom. Water spills, makeup dust, hair, etc. are all things that you deal with when cleaning your bathroom. Having your entire sink and countertop as one, non-porous material, makes it extremely easy to clean and maintain. Our mirrors can be used in the bathroom as in any other room in the house. The beauty of our glass mirrors is that the whole mirror, including the frame, is made out of decorative glass. It is up to you to customize the shape and choose the most appropriate size for your mirror, whether it is a large wall mirror, a small mirror on top of your bathroom sink, or a framed mirror for a dressing room. CBD Glass will make sure your mirror is one of a kind, unique, and serves its purpose while highlighting the rest of your interior.
