A lovely small one story bungalow in the arts and craft style was the original house.
An addition of an entire second story and a portion to the back of the house to accommodate a growing family, for a 4 bedroom 3 bath new house family room and music room.
The owners a young couple from central and South America, are movie producers
The addition was a challenging one since we had to preserve the existing kitchen from a previous remodel and the old and beautiful original 1901 living room.
The stair case was inserted in one of the former bedrooms to access the new second floor.
The beam structure shown in the stair case and the master bedroom are indeed the structure of the roof exposed for more drama and higher ceilings.
The interiors where a collaboration with the owner who had a good idea of what she wanted.

The handcrafted vanity with cast-in-place concrete counter top gives this Master Bath that genuine touch of authenticity not found on the shelf of the big box stores. The glass shower surround allows for more openness and light from the windows to flood the bathroom.
INNER SPACE DESIGNS
A small bathroom gets a big improvement with the addition of a shower, skylights, and a custom sliding barn door using reclaimed wood planks.
The shower features a shaving ledge and shampoo cubbie, finished with a schluter edge. Hex tile flooring was continued into the shower. An integrated concrete sink and vanity was custom made. The sliding barn door and mirrors were also custom made using reclaimed wood planks. A section of the attic was finished off with a cabinet and concrete counter to match the vanity for additional storage space. A large industrial metal cabinet sits at the end of the hall for a more interesting storage solution.
General Assembly
The master bathroom in this Brooklyn townhouse contrasts black and white materials to create a bright and open space. White subway tiles line the walls and tub, while black floor tile covers the floor. Black shower fixtures and a black faucet pop in the space and help to keep things modern. A walnut vanity is topped with a concrete countertop.

Double expresso vanities with tons a storage, made this space not only usable, but beautiful!

An outdated, dark, cramped lower level 3/4 bath is coupled with an un-utilized storage area to create a bright, welcoming spa-retreat master bath.

The integrated concrete sinks were formed as part of the concrete countertop itself. Custom steel supports for the mirrors preserve the continuous window's view to the north. Hansgrohe wall mounted fixtures allow the 33' long vanity to remain undisturbed.

These are custom built counters that have silica inside for a slight crystally sheen. We can put any material in them and polish it out.
Examples: Turquoise and other rock, rare wood samples, gold iron, and other metals, and even man-made glass in any color.

This white oak floating custom vanity is finished with a concrete countertop and backsplash. The LED mirrors are built into the outer to ceiling finish panels, and accented by the beautiful hand blown glass pendants. Gorgeous!
