In this great light and bright kitchen my client was looking for a beach look, including new floors, lots of white, and an open, airy, feel.
This kitchen complements Bathroom Remodel 06 - Bath #1 and Bathroom Remodel 06 - Bath #2 as part of the same house remodel, all with beach house in mind.

Kitchen remodeling project where we installed new custom cabinets. The cabinets were done in a Bridgewood shaker style door in Maple and the stain used was White. To complete the transformation we installed a new granite countertop in steel grey, a new backsplash in Grey Stone, a new Bamboo floor and large crown molding.

A labour of love that took over a year to complete, the evolution of this space represents my personal style whilst respecting rental restrictions. With an emphasis on the significance of individual objects and some minimalist restraint, the multifunctional living space utilises a high/low mix of furnishings. The kitchen features Ikea cupboards and custom shelving. A farmhouse sink, oak worktop and vintage milk pails are a gentle nod towards my country roots.

This white-on-white kitchen design has a transitional style and incorporates beautiful clean lines. It features a Personal Paint Match finish on the Kitchen Island matched to Sherwin-Williams "Threshold Taupe" SW7501 and a mix of light tan paint and vibrant orange décor. These colors really pop out on the “white canvas” of this design. The designer chose a beautiful combination of white Dura Supreme cabinetry (in "Classic White" paint), white subway tile backsplash, white countertops, white trim, and a white sink. The built-in breakfast nook (L-shaped banquette bench seating) attached to the kitchen island was the perfect choice to give this kitchen seating for entertaining and a kitchen island that will still have free counter space while the homeowner entertains.

The works involved the complete refurbishment of a 1920's red brick and hanging tile detached house within a conservation area in Hampstead. The house had been in single occupation for many years, and had been extended in a 70's style not in keeping with either our clients new functional requirements or the orginal logic of the house. The client sought to subtly mix of the aesthetic of the orginal Arts and Crafts style with their passion for 1930/40's French deco and the practicality of a modern home. The existing footprint at ground floor but the more shoddy extensions were shorn and the orginal walls were tweaked to provide a better flow and circulation. The later and less durable alterations in the upper floors were completely removed as well as a dilapidated wooden pool house and crazy paving landscape of a similar era to the internal alterations were completely remodeled. The project exemplifies our approach of undertaking all aspects of the design, including the designed aspect of the design from the table linen to the architectural design and the landscape work.

The old ladder built in to the side of a post was originally to access the barn loft. The beautiful custom made long, long table and chairs in the center of the great barn room and the open kitchen in the background with the old stone house beyond seen through the transomed door openings. Two high windows bring in light under the ceiling.

The new kitchen for this English-style 1920s Portland home was inspired by the classic English scullery—and Downton Abbey! A "royal" color scheme, British-made apron sink, and period pulls ground the project in history, while refined lines and modern functionality bring it up to the present.
