Kitchen with new dolomite countertops and island:
Dolomites are slightly harder than your average marble but are much softer than granite, therefore they can scratch.
In addition, dolomites will hold up better than marble to acids and etching, but they can still etch. Dolomites make a great looking countertop and can be used in the kitchen, bathroom, etc.
Dolomite, also known as dolostone and dolomite rock, is a sedimentary rock composed primarily of the mineral dolomite. Dolomite is found in sedimentary basins worldwide.
Dolomite, like most natural stones is porous and needs to be sealed to prevent staining. Although it performs better than true marble, it can scratch and etch, so know your options
HOMEREDI
HOMEREDI was commissioned to create a large kitchen for a young couple in the heart of Manhasset. We called on A Direct Distributor's expertise to assist our client in designing a fully commissioned kitchen with all the modern amenities available. The original floors were tile and we seamlessly installed wood flooring in this kitchen and married it to the adjacent hallway and dining room without a need for any threshold or saddles. The free standing Hood and all the modern appliances were supplied to our client through our distributors at All Shore Appliance in Port Washington. Images have been captured by our photographer from Chuck Dana's Photography.
Paxton Place Design
Designing with a pop of color was the main goal for this space. This second kitchen is adjacent to the main kitchen so it was important that the design stayed cohesive but also felt like it's own space. The walls are tiled in a 4x4 white porcelain tile. An office area is integrated into the space to give the client the option of a smaller office space near the kitchen. Colorful floral wallpaper covers the ceiling and creates a playful scene. An orange office chair pairs perfectly with the wallpapered ceiling. Dark colored cabinetry sits against white tile and white quartz countertops.
