Our inner-city client in Redfern had a small outdoor courtyard which was impractical and he never used it for entertaining. Vogue and Vine were called in to create a liveable outdoor room and maximise space for seating and entertaining. We put down a new concrete floor and created built in bench seating and garden beds. We broke the space up using different materials and a modern colour palette. We used outdoor sofas and built in cushions to add a touch of glamour and warmth.

The back garden for an innovative property in Fulham Cemetery - the house featured on Channel 4's Grand Designs in January 2021. The design had to enhance the relationship with the bold, contemporary architecture and open up a dialogue with the wild green space beyond its boundaries. A curved wooden bench allows the visitor to sit and be immersed in the lush green planting.

The owners of this Gilbert, AZ home obviously had conversation in mind when they decided to add an area of artificial turf to their backyard. The four chairs seem to say sit down and relax, put your bare feet on the turf. This area also acts as a welcoming secondary seating area. Notice the two chairs situated near the fire pit? If sitting there gets a bit too warm, you can always carry on the conversation on the turf. The barbeque near the pergola also signifies for you to take your meal over to the turf and enjoy it.
