Can't really give a name to this space. Sometimes it's a kitchen, sometimes a study, sometimes a dining room. The bathroom beyond is separated by a flush-mounted cavity slider. Windows and clear sight-lines have been carefully arranged to ensure views to the outside at all times. This helps to open up the space. It's about 2.3m wide inside but it feels like more than that to us. The position of the deck (left side) and garden (right side) help create a strong connection to the outside.

Tall oak wall cabinets painted in Farrow & Ball Chappell Green sit in this impressive converted chapel. Base cabinets contrast perfectly in Farrow & Ball Down Pipe. Oak worktops and shelving attached to slate wall tiles marry perfectly with the limestone flooring. The Rayburn range has tray slots built on the side. Toffee the dog enjoys the warmth while Steve the antlers watches over.

Overview Extend off the rear of a Victorian terrace to yield an amazing family space. The Brief Phase II of this project for us, we were asked to extend into the side and off the rear as much as planning would allow, then create a light, sleek space for a design-driven client. Our Solution While wraparound extensions are ubiquitous (and the best way to enhance living space) they are never boring. Our client was driven to achieve a space people would talk about and so it’s has proved. This scheme has been viewed hundreds of thousands of times on Houzz; we think the neat lines and bold choices make it an excellent ideas platform for those looking to create a kitchen diner with seating space and utility area. The brief is a common one, but each client goes on to work with us on their own unique interpretation.

The couple really wanted to give the property an open plan contemporary feel to create a large family kitchen, dining room and lounge perfect to entertain in. A great space saving Utility area in the kitchen was designed with a curved wall to make the space flow. A clever pocket door which slides into the wall enabled the space to be just wide enough to fit a washing machine, dryer and shelving to create a walk in pantry area. The shaope is complimented by mirroring the curved wall on the breakfast bar, which gives a soft flowing feel when you enter the kitchen. A large island at the centre of the kitchen houses the Hob and Sink. The low ceiling height was quite a challenge so a Downdraught extractor was fitted which comes out of the worktop. This works very efficiently and keeps the streamlined open feel to the room. The couple have kept some of the original features including the fireplace where they have installed a log burning stove. The fridges and ovens have been designed either side of this.

Stunning flat panel minimalist white kitchen with oak wrapped island and worktops. The copper lights add to the warmth of the kitchen.
