This custom arched top window seat is tucked into the Straw Bale wall, the wall's thickness gives the window seat a good depth. A curve fronted corner Kiva Fireplace makes a cozy spot on a chilly winters evening. The wood Vigas framing the window seat and in the ceiling above complete the room.

This bedroom is a sanctuary, offering a place to rest, read, or lounge. The four poster bed celebrates the volume of the room. Woven wool rugs soften the refinished dark walnut floors and bridge the contrast from the crisp white walls. Upholstered swivel chairs allow for a quiet read, an intimate conversation, or a spot by the fireplace.

We decided early on to use a strong accent color from her favorite painting. She had some traditional transitional dresser and night stands. she also had some cool mid century lamps and we married that with a new mid century transitional lounge reading chair and round ottoman. We also added a traditional bronze lamp to accent the bronze wall fireplace. She found a cool bronze mid century side table as well. The use of strong color and a eclectic mix of furntiure and light paint colors on tall ceilings really makes this room a place to be.
