MOTIF transformed a standard bedroom into this artful and inviting home office with the potential of being used a guest room when the occasion arises. Soft wall colors, a textured area rug, a built in desk are counterpoint to a cozy sofa bench -- which doubles as a twin bed or can be transformed into a queen bed by pulling the pieces apart and reconnecting them in another configuration.
It is a surprising and unexpected room and is both functional and beautiful.

We overhauled this office and brought in bright happy colors for an invigorating work space.

My husband added brass hairpin legs to inexpensive computer desks with laptop compartments, integrated power strips and cord cutouts. Mike Z Designs created a custom wooden box to hide the ugly in-wall AC unit. The front panel slides out to allow the unit to operate.

Carly of carlyandsloan.com used two Annie dining chairs as seating in her feminine, chic studio space for photography and meeting with clients. The epitome of stylish, this transparent Annie dining chair puts an unique, modern spin on a timeless traditional design. Compatible with a wide range of decorating trends, it offers a hint of classic charm and major contemporary appeal.

This project shows how a small room can become a functional yet stylish home office. Finding the right size desk for its use and space is very important. We added shelving units for great storage and a place to showcase beautiful items, as well as a pull-out couch which provides a seating area or an extra bed for guests to sleep in. This is a great example of how to maximize the use of a space.

Perfectly peaceful and feminine welcoming office space. Color palette of pale pink and sage green helps tie in with the vibrant floral wallpaper on opposite side of the room. Thick alpaca 'confetti' fabric on guest chairs adds an element of luxury while the vintage onyx countertop squared-off for a modern look, sits nestled in between the chairs, and adds to the refined elements of the room.

Our client is a writer, and wanted to an inspired space free of clutter. Her vintage silk rug paired beautifully with a desk from ABC Home, which has a beautiful view of the foothills. Her comfy chair got a fuzzy coat. We painted the walls with freedom and intuition. The lamps were sourced from Dutton Brown and Anthropologie. The vintage typewriter belonged to our client's grandfather.

A custom work peninsula was configured around a section of roof that protruded into the previous attic storage space. A black countertop covers the top, making it the perfect place to stretch and prepare canvases, cut paper, or just check to make sure something is straight with the T-square.

Formal dining room begone- we reimagined this space to be one this family of three could use daily - with a small table for enjoying coffee or doing work, a daybed for lounging with a new baby, and lots of storage, it's now a space that isn't just used on Thanksgiving.
