This kitchen was a floor plan challenge. It's not limitingly small space, but having an outside corner within the kitchen footprint is just kind of odd. In addition, this kitchen had the most involved dropped ceiling we'd met... like a series of IKEA futon frames hanging up there.
To ease off on the emphasis of the structural beams that fall kind of randomly in the space, we increased the horizontal fir accents.

Lower cabinets are dark while upper cabinets are white painted. The overall effect is not heavy if they were all dark.

Do you have the blues? Well this kitchen design certainly does! Incorporated in the design is the Schuler cherry cabinetry, with door style Sugar Creek, has been paired with Sensa’s Blue Pearl granite. To fully capture the “blue theme”, we added Elida’s Skylight Glass Subway tile throughout the walls and Elida’s Skylight Glass Hexagon Mosaic, where the range hood and stove is located. All appliances in the kitchen are Samsung’s in color Black Stainless Steel. The cabinetry pulls are color Black Bronze provided from Schuler. All in all, the client is not in the blues when it comes to their newly remodeled

Removing a partition wall between the living area and kitchen, allowed us to bring out a peninsula into the living area expanding the kitchen, and providing the opportunity for additional cabinetry, countertop space, and a bar top. Dark CWP cabinetry creates contrast in the kitchen. Quartz countertops offer a durable surface, while a section of butcher block next to the cooktop serves as a convenient prep space for cutting vegetables or bread. This kitchen is packed with professional grade appliances. A Viking Professional Cooktop, and oven-microwave combination demand attention in this kitchen. Stainless Steel appliances are complemented by the stainless steel backsplash behind the range, and between the countertop and bar of the peninsula. A stone combination stacked tile is featured in the remaining backsplash space. A custom wood feature was placed on top of the bar in this kitchen, adding a luxurious, and earthy feature in this kitchen. While in the home, we were also able to re-finish the flooring in the adjacent living room, tying the two rooms together.
