MOTIF transformed a standard living room with beige carpet and beige walls into this artful and inviting room. Adding moody color and texture to the walls, a cozy chair, some textured and patterned pillows, a few plants, a new rug, side tables and a piece for storage, this once baren room is now a charming place to hang out.

The scheme of this room was designed around the fantastic Matthew Williamson Fanfare wallpaper, which reflects the light. The fan is brought into play in the travel artefacts that adorn the room. The bright, jewel colours make it warm and inviting in the evening, providing a cosy place to share a bottle of wine in front of the fire.

Keeping consistent with the theme we wanted to make sure this room was the showstopper. The focus of the room besides the green velvet sofa is the blue, green and gold pineapple wallpaper. Throughout the space we incorporated a mix of pattern, geometric shapes, and other whimsical pieces.

We were inspired by the beautiful blend that results when you pair together vintage with industrial. The exposed ceiling gave the space a naturally-industrial feel, so we played off of the aesthetic by selecting very modern chandeliers. You’ll notice that these chandeliers, along with the rugs, mark each quadrant as part of a definitive whole. To add warmth to a space, nothing does it better than vintage! We chose a leather sofa with antique brass nailheads and buttery red and brown tones that add a touch of coziness to the workspace. You’ll also find hints of our Global Bazaar collection in this quadrant, bringing diversity and unique textiles to the look.

This room was converted from what had been the main bedroom into a cosy study/tv room. we deconstructed the existing wardrobes and partially rebuilt them into a new formation. We had all the original cornices copied and reinstated as necessary. All the furniture came from their previous home (which I had also done) and reused the curtains from there to border the new ones which also matched sofa which had been recently recovered.

Really simple moves to paint this dark and gloomy space white, and blast in a statement green chandelier, vintage furniture, and some burgundy tones.

This was a through lounge and has been returned back to two rooms - a lounge and study. The clients have a gorgeously eclectic collection of furniture and art and the project has been to give context to all these items in a warm, inviting, family setting. No dressing required, just come in home and enjoy!

This living rooms A-frame wood paneled ceiling allows lots of natural light to shine through onto its Farrow & Ball dark shiplap walls. The space boasts a large geometric rug made of natural fibers from Meadow Blu, a dark grey heather sofa from RH, a custom green Nickey Kehoe couch, a McGee and Co. gold chandelier, and a hand made reclaimed wood coffee table.

This artist's haven in Portola Valley, CA is in a woodsy, rural setting. The goal was to make this home lighter and more inviting using new lighting, new flooring, and new furniture, while maintaining the integrity of the original house design. Not quite Craftsman, not quite mid-century modern, this home built in 1955 has a rustic feel. We wanted to uplevel the sophistication, and bring in lots of color, pattern, and texture the artist client would love.

This living room is the perfect Asian-inspired design. The dark, textured wallpaper blends with the dark hardwood floors. The white sofa goes well with the bright green chair and blue area rug. A light-up, grasshopper coffee table is the focal point of this space.
