This great room with the fireplace and high ceilings feels fantastic when hanging out alone on the couch taking in the breathtaking views or when filled to the brim with guests when entertaining.

The center of the room is dominated by the fireplace, which was restored during renovation, and still has its original wrought iron cover, and beautiful walnut surround and mantel. The center-paced antique Persian rug is layered over the Annie Selke larger jute. Mid-century Lane side tables frame the fireplace, and Chinese gilt vintage lamps carry on the Chinoiserie theme.

Our projects have been published in Architectural Digest 6 times along with many other publications and books. Though the lion share of our work has been in Fairfield and Westchester counties, we have built homes in Palm Beach, Aspen, Maine, Nantucket and Long Island.

This living/dining room combined is open and airy to the sliding glass doors leading to the covered patio. A great place to entertain, yet relax and enjoy the beauty.

This sweet antique chest just needed a bit of TLC--darker grounding paint color in blue-gray, banquette lamps with a touch of brass, and water color prints that float above shagreen boxes. Photography by Stacy Zarin

A two story family room can feel large and uninviting, but by using plush seating, soft drapery and yummy textiles, the room can become warm and comfortable for family and entertaining. The use of mercury glass on the fireplace wall emphasizes the vertical space and helps to reflect the beauty of the room from any angle.
