This midcentury gem was in need a little detailing outside. By using an open trellis detail from the existing fence, we were able to break up the long empty walls of the facade and provide just the right detail to this modern landscape. The addition of a slate patio at the entry walk provided a seating area for the owners to enjoy their large front yard.

The wonderful view from the upper terrace of an 8 acre garden in Old Boar's Hill, Oxfordshire. The garden falls away from the house, so we designed a series of terraces from the upper terrace down to the lake in the distance. The upper terrace planting was more formal will topiary peacocks at the entrance to the steps down, which reflect the peacocks found etched into the original stone door surround.. These central steps create a grand vista, centred first on the circular water feature with sculpture in the sunken terrace and then onto the beautiful lake beyond.

The custom designed concrete pavers to the house take inspiration from the entry gate.
The interior courtyard and atrium are reminiscent of a Zen garden, the front garden has rivers of grasses and low water plants. More pictures to come when we finish!
