As in most homes, the family room and kitchen is the hub of the home. Walls and ceiling are papered with a faux grass cloth vinyl, offering just a bit of texture and interest. Flanking custom Kravet sofas provide a comfortable place to talk to the cook! Custom cabinetry from Hanford. Subzero and Wolf appliances. The game table expands for additional players or a large puzzle. The mural depicts the over 50 acres of ponds, rolling hills and two covered bridges built by the home owner.

The original kitchen was removed from the south wall to create outdoor access via a new terrace door. The new kitchen was moved to the north side of the open kitchen family area. This location allowed for an 11’ long island.
The family room space was enhanced by installing the picture window that gives a great view into the pool space and lets in borrowed light from the 9’x20’ retracting skylight that sits over the pool. The large window draws you into the room and in the evening the backlit blue agate wall panels that are visible throughout the first floor create a warm glow.
All cabinetry was crafted in-house at our cabinet shop.

A modern mountain renovation of an inherited mountain home in North Carolina. We brought the 1990's home in the the 21st century with a redesign of living spaces, changing out dated windows for stacking doors, with an industrial vibe. The new design breaths and compliments the beautiful vistas outside, enhancing, not blocking.

Lower-level walkout basement is enhanced by the corner stone fireplace, fine oriental rug, Hancock and Moore leather sofa, and Bradington Young reclining chairs. The full kitchen with raised island/bar is open to the room and the large double sliders offer the opportunity for the outside to become a part of the covered loggia and expansive space. Natural slate covers the entire lower level, except for the guest suite, which is carpeted.
