Koi Fish Pond With a View!
Koi Fish Pond With a View!
California WaterscapesCalifornia Waterscapes
This project is especially unique! This homeowner just bought a home in So Cal and were moving from Nor Cal very shortly. They had an issue that needed solving. Not only did they need a Koi pond built for their new home in So Cal, but needed some help transporting their beloved family Koi fish too! We took this challenge on by building them an oasis both their Koi and their family will enjoy, but also driving up ourselves and ensuring their Koi made it here safe and sound.

The rear grounds are equally impressive with a lattice courtyard lawn, serpentine isle of boxwood with custom wood obelisks, metal garden sculpture and a Celtic knot garden. This property also has cutting, fragrance and rose gardens that bloom though out the seasons, and a fire-pit area for entertaining on those cool New England nights. What a striking home! This home in South Baton Rouge was designed by Cockfield-Jackson and the clients wanted a complete landscape design that would accompany the architecture of this A. Hays Town inspired home. Featured in this design are a substantial entertainment area in the rear, complete with an outdoor kitchen (built by Joffrion Construction) expansive pool with water feature wall, and a bluestone courtyard. Additionally, this home features a quaint side yard complete with brick steps leading to a bluestone courtyard with an antique sugar kettle fountain. The clients also needed options for guests to park. A circular driveway in the front provided a grand entrance, as well as ample parking for plenty of guests.

This closer view of the glass extension reveals a harmonious blend of modernity and comfort, set against the backdrop of a historic brick home. The extension's clean lines and reflective surfaces offer a contemporary counterpoint to the textured, aged brickwork of the original structure. Inside, the modern dining area is visible through the floor-to-ceiling windows, showcasing a space where family and guests can gather. The choice of azure blue chairs around a minimalist table reflects a design ethos that favors bold, confident styling within a functional space. The extension serves as a visual bridge, connecting the home's interior with the verdant garden. It creates an inviting atmosphere, where the transition from the coziness of the indoors to the natural splendor of the outdoors is but a few steps away. This image captures the essence of the property—a space that has been thoughtfully designed to respect its historical context while embracing the advantages of contemporary living. It's a home that tells a story of time, a narrative where each chapter is marked by the integration of the old with the new.
