My clients have 4 kids and wanted them to have their own hang out space so we designed the loft around their interests. We created a Lego, sports, art and reading center walls. We then custom made the cork boards to display their school projects. The colors were a combination of all the kids favorite colors. This was designed for the kids to grow into their space, it mixes fun textures that they can enjoy now as well as when they are pre-teen. The chandelier is multi colored and is the focal point of our room! The kids LOVE IT! The stripped paint going horizontal adds a lot of visual interest to the space!

This Great room, featured in Best of Design Today by Shiffer Publishing, showcases our clients taste. We covered the sectional in a soft damask pattern. To keep it formal, we place a bullion fringe at the base of the skirt. In lieu of a coffee table, we chose a pair of painted tea tables with a claw foot base. Opposite them are a pair of skirted ottomans with tassels on the corner. Between the windows we placed a series of asian prints with a pagoda candle holder between. The window treatments which are swags and jabots with side panels, are a silk damak in celadon with a contrasting boarder.

A fun project combining a love of color with a love for an eclectic mix of furnishings and accessories. It was a great adventure figuring out how to marry the traditional style and good furniture that her husband grew up with and loved, with the funky vibe and saturated colors my client and her husband both wanted in their home. We started with high quality traditional furnishings and a classic oriental rug to lay the foundation. Then we added in modern elements, such as a gorgeous chunky wooden table for the eating area, paired with sleek warm white leather chairs and bold lighting that is anything but traditional. The top layer of Chihuly inspired glass, bright pottery, colorful fabrics, new dramatic custom curtains, and my client's own collections made everything just come together. Photos by Laura Kicey

I know I shouldn't do this because we're not done and the drapes haven't even arrived, but I'm spitting into the wind with these dramatic before and after's. Here we've changed the wall paint from a "dull", pale gray to bright Ivory. "Gray's" not for everyone and from the moment Deanna painted it, she told me she immediately regretted it, but didn't have a solution. We then added built in's under the windows that flank the FP. With some help from, "Hippos" we moved the TV over the FP and changed out the carpet, replaced the dreary and tired upholstery with two new and much larger, Beige sofas with cheerful pillows in Deannas favorite color combinations and well, of course those fabulous Roman Shades! We will be adding the drapes (as soon as they arrive) a new coffee table and end/occasional tables. Even so, it's a huge improvement and now such a cheerful space. Stay tuned for more to come and we've barely touched on the Kitchens transformation
