Kitchen remodel with reclaimed wood cabinetry and industrial details. Photography by Manolo Langis. Located steps away from the beach, the client engaged us to transform a blank industrial loft space to a warm inviting space that pays respect to its industrial heritage. We use anchored large open space with a sixteen foot conversation island that was constructed out of reclaimed logs and plumbing pipes. The island itself is divided up into areas for eating, drinking, and reading. Bringing this theme into the bedroom, the bed was constructed out of 12x12 reclaimed logs anchored by two bent steel plates for side tables.

This walnut kitchen was built in collaboration with Union Studio for a discerning couple in Mill Valley. The hand-hewned cabinetry and custom steel pulls complement the exposed brick retained from original structure's former life as the Carnegie Library in Mill Valley. Photography by Eduard Hueber / archphoto North and south exposures in this 3000 square foot loft in Tribeca allowed us to line the south facing wall with two guest bedrooms and a 900 sf master suite. The trapezoid shaped plan creates an exaggerated perspective as one looks through the main living space space to the kitchen. The ceilings and columns are stripped to bring the industrial space back to its most elemental state. The blackened steel canopy and blackened steel doors were designed to complement the raw wood and wrought iron columns of the stripped space. Salvaged materials such as reclaimed barn wood for the counters and reclaimed marble slabs in the master bathroom were used to enhance the industrial feel of the space.

Our Approach Main Line Kitchen Design is a unique business model! We are a group of skilled Kitchen Designers each with many years of experience planning kitchens around the Delaware Valley. And we are cabinet dealers for 8 nationally distributed cabinet lines much like traditional showrooms. Appointment Information Unlike full showrooms open to the general public, Main Line Kitchen Design works only by appointment. Appointments can be scheduled days, nights, and weekends either in your home or in our office and selection center. During office appointments we display clients kitchens on a flat screen TV and help them look through 100’s of sample doorstyles, almost a thousand sample finish blocks and sample kitchen cabinets. During home visits we can bring samples, take measurements, and make design changes on laptops showing you what your kitchen can look like in the very room being renovated. This is more convenient for our customers and it eliminates the expense of staffing and maintaining a larger space that is open to walk in traffic. We pass the significant savings on to our customers and so we sell cabinetry for less than other dealers, even home centers like Lowes and The Home Depot.

We were approached by this client who wanted to bring as much light as possible into their Victorian home renovation. The result was the installation of floor to ceiling internal steel partitions to the central home office which allowed light to floor through the whole of the ground floor. The external sliding doors used were made from our slimline system which has minimal sight-lines and incorporates high performance glass. These were used on the upper floors also as windows.

KITCHEN. Our clients had lived in this barn conversion for a number of years but had not got around to updating it. The layout was slightly awkward and the entrance to the property was not obvious. There were dark terracotta floor tiles and a large amount of pine throughout, which made the property very orange! On the ground floor we remodelled the layout to create a clear entrance, large open plan kitchen-dining room, a utility room, boot room and small bathroom. We then replaced the floor, decorated throughout and introduced a new colour palette and lighting scheme. In the master bedroom on the first floor, walls and a mezzanine ceiling were removed to enable the ceiling height to be enjoyed. New bespoke cabinetry was installed and again a new lighting scheme and colour palette introduced.
