Recently Renovated Kitchen, here is what Cori has to say about that process...Initially, I had to have the "upgrade" of thermafoil cabinets, but that was 25 years ago...it was time to bring my trendy kitchen space up to my current design standards! Ann Sachs.... Kelly Wearstler tile were the inspiration for the entire space. Eliminating walls between cabinetry, appliances, and a desk no longer necessary, were just the beginning. Adding a warm morel wood tone to these new cabinets and integrating a wine/coffee station were just some of the updates. I decided to keep the "White Kitchen" on the north side and add the same warm wood tone to the hood. A fresh version of the traditional farmhouse sink, Grohe faucet and Rio Blanc Quartzite were all part of the design. To keep the space open I added floating shelves both on the north side of the white kitchen and again above the wine refrigerator. A great spot in incorporate my love of artwork and travel! His and Hers Home office & recording Space.

Our inspiration for this home was an updated and refined approach to Frank Lloyd Wright’s “Prairie-style”; one that responds well to the harsh Central Texas heat. By DESIGN we achieved soft balanced and glare-free daylighting, comfortable temperatures via passive solar control measures, energy efficiency without reliance on maintenance-intensive Green “gizmos” and lower exterior maintenance. The client’s desire for a healthy, comfortable and fun home to raise a young family and to accommodate extended visitor stays, while being environmentally responsible through “high performance” building attributes, was met. Harmonious response to the site’s micro-climate, excellent Indoor Air Quality, enhanced natural ventilation strategies, and an elegant bug-free semi-outdoor “living room” that connects one to the outdoors are a few examples of the architect’s approach to Green by Design that results in a home that exceeds the expectations of its owners. His and Hers Home office & recording Space.

This impressive detached building is located in the heart of the bustling Dundas West strip, and presents a unique opportunity for creative live + work space. Designed by Kohn Shnier Architects, the building was completed in 2008 and has been owner-occupied ever since. Modern steel and concrete construction enable clear spans throughout, and the virtual elimination of bulkheads. The main floor features a dynamic retail space, that connects to a lower level with high ceilings – perfect as a workshop, atelier or as an extension of the retail. Upstairs, a spacious loft-like apartment is spread over 2 floors. The mainfloor includes a decadent chef’s kitchen finished in Corian, with a large eat-at island. The combined living & dining rooms connect with a large south-facing terrace with exceptional natural light and neighbourhood views. Upstairs, the master bathroom features abundant built-in closets, together with a generous ensuite bathroom. A second open space is presently used as a studio, but is easily converted to a closed 2nd bedroom. Parking is provided at the rear of the building, and the rooftop functions as a green roof. The finest materials have been used in this very special building, from anodized aluminium windows paired with black manganese brick, to high quality appliances and dual furnaces to provide adequate heating and fire separation between the retail and residential units.
