Matthew designed the hutch as a furniture piece. It is made from antique Pine and provides a lovely space to display dishes while bringing a touch of history to the design. It also looks great with the Hickory flooring.

Goals for the kitchen: Create a statement. The island is adorned with Bently quartz from Cambria. It steered each selection of the kitchen from the black chevron backlash to the gold bamboo-look pendants. The appliances coordinate with the black and gold finishes as well, the JennAir range’s is dressed in brass bezel accents and the stainless-steel apron-front sink is brushed with a brass decorative front.

With lots of floor space but very little in the way of wall space, this huge Island of custom cabinetry makes up for some much-needed storage and counter space. The Island is finished off with a walnut top. The walnut was milled from trees the client had on their own property and here is used as a gorgeous butcher block top.
Blue Hill Cabinet & Woodwork
Clean and simple kitchen with grain matched cabinets. The clients wanted a modern farmhouse look with all the modern functioning extras. We began with the layout which includes panels on the d.w. and fridge, a full trash pull out and swing out in the blind corner. We then went on to design the curved walnut legs on the island, and the custom lay out of the plate rack. The floating shelves with bar for hooks for mugs filled out the function part of the design.
Next we found a type of wood that was warm and brown but not too yellow or red. The matching grain of the rift sawn white oak was the choice. The legs on the island are oak which match the stools. The countertops and subway tile and hardware rounded out the choices.

A lovely small one story bungalow in the arts and craft style was the original house.
An addition of an entire second story and a portion to the back of the house to accommodate a growing family, for a 4 bedroom 3 bath new house family room and music room.
The owners a young couple from central and South America, are movie producers
The addition was a challenging one since we had to preserve the existing kitchen from a previous remodel and the old and beautiful original 1901 living room.
The stair case was inserted in one of the former bedrooms to access the new second floor.
The beam structure shown in the stair case and the master bedroom are indeed the structure of the roof exposed for more drama and higher ceilings.
The interiors where a collaboration with the owner who had a good idea of what she wanted.

A modern mix of charcoal grey stain and antique wire glass cabinets with a black farm sink combine with a walnut kitchen island for a warm and hard working kitchen. The dark palette adds drama but was actually a solution to mitigate nighttime reflections on the opposite windows that had ruined the view.
