This large home had a lot of empty space in the basement and the owners wanted a small-sized kitchen built into their spare room for added convenience and luxury. This brand new kitchenette provides everything a regular kitchen has - backsplash, stove, dishwasher, you name it. The full height counter matching backsplash creates a beautiful and seamless appeal that adds texture and in general brings the kitchen together. The light beige cabinets complement the color of the counter and backsplash and mix brilliantly. As for the apron sink and industrial faucet, they add efficiency and aesthetic to the design.

Vaulted ceilings are supported by angled windows which open up the home to light. In order to cut down on the number of installed "can" lights, pendant lights were strung across the kitchen from wall to wall to provide ambient lighting.

The image features a minimalist and serene space that centers on a luxurious deep green velvet sofa with a tufted design, lending a sense of opulence and comfort. The sofa is set against a wall adorned with a large-scale, monochromatic wallpaper that depicts a serene forest scene, adding depth and a touch of nature to the interior.
Above the sofa, the wall is lit by two simple yet elegant wall sconces that provide soft lighting, enhancing the tranquil ambiance of the space. The herringbone pattern of the wooden floor contributes to the room's classic aesthetic, while a side table with a vase of dried flowers introduces an organic element and a contrasting texture to the smoothness of the velvet.
This alcove creates a sense of intimacy and is perfect for quiet reflection or conversation, with the forest wallpaper acting as a statement piece that brings a calm and restorative feel to the modern interior.
Imperfect Interiors
This detached home in West Dulwich was opened up & extended across the back to create a large open plan kitchen diner & seating area for the family to enjoy together. We added oak herringbone parquet in the main living area, a large dark green and wood kitchen with grey granite worktops.

The clients wanted a bold and unique kitchen design, to contrast and complement the ornate cornicing and detailed Victorian stained glass window. The design includes two-toned cabinetry in complementary colours and a discrete built in fridge freezer and utility cupboard sitting flush with a wall for maximum storage.

MARGARITA BRAVO
Our design studio fully renovated this beautiful 1980s home. We divided the large living room into dining and living areas with a shared, updated fireplace. The original formal dining room became a bright and fun family room. The kitchen got sophisticated new cabinets, colors, and an amazing quartz backsplash. In the bathroom, we added wooden cabinets and replaced the bulky tub-shower combo with a gorgeous freestanding tub and sleek black-tiled shower area. We also upgraded the den with comfortable minimalist furniture and a study table for the kids.
---Project designed by Montecito interior designer Margarita Bravo. She serves Montecito as well as surrounding areas such as Hope Ranch, Summerland, Santa Barbara, Isla Vista, Mission Canyon, Carpinteria, Goleta, Ojai, Los Olivos, and Solvang.
