Replacing kitchen counters and backsplash with a modern clean aesthetic updated the entire room. Lesson - replace what you don’t like even when it’s not worn out. And in this case the solid wood cabinets were acceptable when the busy, bright orange granite was removed from the backsplash and counter area. The clients original idea of painting the cabinets would not have resulted in a kitchen they would have loved. And, it would not have been very durable for an active family. Determining the issue and addressing it with an appropriate design solution shifted this to a room my clients truly love.

High-performance, high-end appliances make cooking a pleasure, promote healthy eating and reflect the luxurious lifestyle of my client. This Wolf range with custom stainless steel hood and brass trim inspired the dramatic, antique silver and gold backsplash. Each stone tile is wrapped in metal and finely etched in a starburst pattern that reflects the light and adds warmth. To make the wide-plank, walnut wood floor more “forgiving” to wear and tear, I chose a lightly distressed finish.

Urban Kitchens and Baths, Inc.
This Bentwood kitchen designed by Phil Rudick, Architect of Urban Kitchens and Baths, Austin, Texas is a gathering place for family and friends. It gives an added feeling of spaciousness because it is surrounded by windows that look out over the hill country and riding arena.

This Oceanside home, built to take advantage of majestic rocky views of the North Atlantic, incorporates outside living with inside glamor.
Sunlight streams through the large exterior windows that overlook the ocean. The light filters through to the back of the home with the clever use of over sized door frames with transoms, and a large pass through opening from the kitchen/living area to the dining area.
Retractable mosquito screens were installed on the deck to create an outdoor- dining area, comfortable even in the mid summer bug season. Photography: Greg Premru

Suede Gray Cabinetry in our Prestige Square style. 'Transitional' at its best. Pairs beautifully with Cambria countertops and a rich and sophisticated glass tile. Envokes a rich style that inspires!
