Hankins & Associates, Inc. - Kitchens and Baths
This “Blue for You” kitchen is truly a cook’s kitchen with its 48” Wolf dual fuel range, steamer oven, ample 48” built-in refrigeration and drawer microwave. The 11-foot-high ceiling features a 12” lighted tray with crown molding. The 9’-6” high cabinetry, together with a 6” high crown finish neatly to the underside of the tray. The upper wall cabinets are 5-feet high x 13” deep, offering ample storage in this 324 square foot kitchen. The custom cabinetry painted the color of Benjamin Moore’s “Jamestown Blue” (HC-148) on the perimeter and “Hamilton Blue” (HC-191) on the island and Butler’s Pantry. The main sink is a cast iron Kohler farm sink, with a Kohler cast iron under mount prep sink in the (100” x 42”) island. While this kitchen features much storage with many cabinetry features, it’s complemented by the adjoining butler’s pantry that services the formal dining room. This room boasts 36 lineal feet of cabinetry with over 71 square feet of counter space. Not outdone by the kitchen, this pantry also features a farm sink, dishwasher, and under counter wine refrigeration.
Neil Kelly Company
The "Dream of the '90s" was alive in this industrial loft condo before Neil Kelly Portland Design Consultant Erika Altenhofen got her hands on it. The 1910 brick and timber building was converted to condominiums in 1996. No new roof penetrations could be made, so we were tasked with creating a new kitchen in the existing footprint. Erika's design and material selections embrace and enhance the historic architecture, bringing in a warmth that is rare in industrial spaces like these. Among her favorite elements are the beautiful black soapstone counter tops, the RH medieval chandelier, concrete apron-front sink, and Pratt & Larson tile backsplash

The open concept Great Room includes the Kitchen, Breakfast, Dining, and Living spaces. The dining room is visually and physically separated by built-in shelves and a coffered ceiling. Windows and french doors open from this space into the adjacent Sunroom. The wood cabinets and trim detail present throughout the rest of the home are highlighted here, brightened by the many windows, with views to the lush back yard. The large island features a pull-out marble prep table for baking, and the counter is home to the grocery pass-through to the Mudroom / Butler's Pantry.

Even with an open floor plan, our clients desired a "cozy kitchen" from the start. Instead of enclosing the kitchen, it is scaled down to one-story and warmed by exposed beam and wood stained beadboard ceiling. The kitchen opens to the two-story great room with dining and living.
A generous bank of two-story windows face the east-west axis for maximum natural light. The flooring is 6" white oak. The kitchen island is custom-made marble top.
At the back of the great room, behind sliding barn doors, is our client's painting studio.

This kitchen was crafted with a historical feel, like the homeowner built onto an existing property. The barn beams, reclaimed wide plank wood floors and custom, hand-crafted cabinetry and hand forged lighting appeals to the senses of old while the professional appliances allow the homeowner to function in the present!

Snitz Creek Cabinet Shop
A cozy and intimate kitchen in a summer home right here in South Lebanon. The kitchen is used by an avid baker and was custom built to suit those needs.

Log homes have challenges, this remodel with its new floor plan brought in soft grey cabinets, soapstone c-tops, and a marble backsplash.
View from the living room. The apron front sink has a farmhouse feel but the appliances are all modern. A banquette can seat many guests while affording views of nature. There's a coffee center, a hidden cabinet for the microwave and a nook for a TV. A light rail system allows for pendants to hang in the two-story vaulted ceiling over the banquette. It's a uniquely personal space that now functions brilliantly for the homeowners.

Interior Motives
This was a small cabin located in South Lake Tahoe, CA that was built in 1947. The existing kitchen was tiny, inefficient & in much need of an update. The owners wanted lots of storage and much more counter space. One challenge was to incorporate a washer and dryer into the space and another was to maintain the local flavor of the existing cabin while modernizing the features. The final photos in this project show the before photos.
