Sweeney Design Remodel
By removing the wall that separated the dining room from the kitchen, we were able to add the pantry/mudroom behind the kitchen, which was initially upfront and very open to the first-floor living spaces. New custom cabinetry was installed with shaker-style cabinet doors in a beautiful antique green color. The cabinets were topped with striking black quartz countertops and completed with new commercial-grade appliances, chrome plumbing fixtures, and vintage pendant lights. New wood floors were installed and finished to match the existing wood floors throughout the first floor.

This newly remodeled kitchen oozes traditional craftsman style right down to the hand-crafted tile above the stove top. Modern updates married into the design keep the space functional. A sleek stove top includes a vent that rises from the countertop when the in use. Bamboo flooring is a sustainable option that contrasts beautifully with the warm cherry cabinets. What was once a traditional butler's pantry is now added storage and counter space (to the left of the door). This kitchen has it all - style, counterspace, storage, and garden views!

I worked with a creative and detail oriented client to transform her old (but not original) kitchen space into a beautiful, functional space to cook, bake and enjoy a casual meal.
Knight Custom Homes
A corroded pipe in the 2nd floor bathroom was the original prompt to begin extensive updates on this 109 year old heritage home in Elbow Park. This craftsman home was build in 1912 and consisted of scattered design ideas that lacked continuity. In order to steward the original character and design of this home while creating effective new layouts, we found ourselves faced with extensive challenges including electrical upgrades, flooring height differences, and wall changes. This home now features a timeless kitchen, site finished oak hardwood through out, 2 updated bathrooms, and a staircase relocation to improve traffic flow. The opportunity to repurpose exterior brick that was salvaged during a 1960 addition to the home provided charming new backsplash in the kitchen and walk in pantry.
CUSTOM CRAFT - Design Build Remodel
Our clients wanted a beverage station where they could prepare their daily coffee or serve a glass of wine away from the main food prep area. We placed the station within easy reach of the refrigerator. On the counter, we used the same Blue Butterfly granite, as well as the same Crema Marfil tile for the backsplash. Wine cubbies were included for easy access. Below we installed a convenient undercounter microwave drawer.
