This 1960s home was in original condition and badly in need of some functional and cosmetic updates. We opened up the great room into an open concept space, converted the half bathroom downstairs into a full bath, and updated finishes all throughout with finishes that felt period-appropriate and reflective of the owner's Asian heritage.

ATIID collaborated with these homeowners to curate new furnishings throughout the home while their down-to-the studs, raise-the-roof renovation, designed by Chambers Design, was underway. Pattern and color were everything to the owners, and classic “Americana” colors with a modern twist appear in the formal dining room, great room with gorgeous new screen porch, and the primary bedroom. Custom bedding that marries not-so-traditional checks and florals invites guests into each sumptuously layered bed. Vintage and contemporary area rugs in wool and jute provide color and warmth, grounding each space. Bold wallpapers were introduced in the powder and guest bathrooms, and custom draperies layered with natural fiber roman shades ala Cindy’s Window Fashions inspire the palettes and draw the eye out to the natural beauty beyond. Luxury abounds in each bathroom with gleaming chrome fixtures and classic finishes. A magnetic shade of blue paint envelops the gourmet kitchen and a buttery yellow creates a happy basement laundry room. No detail was overlooked in this stately home - down to the mudroom’s delightful dutch door and hard-wearing brick floor.

Are you a hater of doing laundry? Then this laundry room is for you! What started out as a builder basic closet for a laundry room was transformed into a luxuriously lush laundry room, complete with built-in cane front cabinets, a steamer, stacked washer and dryer, crane wallpaper, marble countertop and flooring, and even a decorative mirror. How inspiring!

This home renovation project included a complete gut and reorganization of the main floor, removal of large chimney stack in the middle of the dining room, bringing floors all to same level, moving doors, adding guest bath, master closet, corner fireplace and garage. The result is this beautiful, open, spacious main floor with new kitchen, dining room, living room, master bedroom, master bath, guest bath, laundry room and flooring throughout.
Burrow & Nest
This rear entry area doubled as a laundry room that housed only a simple closet. The closet was removed to make room for a classic mudroom hall tree, allowing for convenient open storage for grab and go boots, coats and leashes. A durable tile floor was installed to create a waterproof area that's easy to clean.
Puppy's food, water bowl and leash are all accessible.
The laundry area was fitted with ample storage cabinets, a natural quartzite working surface for folding and sorting, and a farmhouse sink for cleaning the dog and hand washables. Space was created for a rollout laundry basket, yet everything is tidy when not in use.
A stunning tree of life wallpaper adds color and flow, complimenting the peacock blue cabinets. Natural tones in the flooring and light fixture warm the space.
