Though they originated in India, the intricate swirls, teardrops and rich colors of paisley were adopted and adapted so long ago by the British that paisleys are now firmly rooted in English country style. We’ve taken that timeless motif and reinterpreted it in a boldly overscaled design that’s looser, more artistic, and colored in appealing shades of Lapis blue, Moss green, spice red, and golden Dijon. This tufted wool rug incorporates slightly mottled yarns for a greater sense of movement and depth. Designed to emulate the owner’s favorite country club, this fine estate home blends in with the natural surroundings of it’s hillside perch, and is so intoxicatingly beautiful, one hardly notices its numerous energy saving and green features. Durable, natural and handsome materials such as stained cedar trim, natural stone veneer, and integral color plaster are combined with strong horizontal roof lines that emphasize the expansive nature of the site and capture the “bigness” of the view. Large expanses of glass punctuated with a natural rhythm of exposed beams and stone columns that frame the spectacular views of the Santa Clara Valley and the Los Gatos Hills. A shady outdoor loggia and cozy outdoor fire pit create the perfect environment for relaxed Saturday afternoon barbecues and glitzy evening dinner parties alike. A glass “wall of wine” creates an elegant backdrop for the dining room table, the warm stained wood interior details make the home both comfortable and dramatic. Creating a space to entertain was the top priority in this Mukwonago kitchen remodel. The homeowners wanted seating and counter space for hosting parties and watching sports. By opening the dining room wall, we extended the kitchen area. We added an island and custom designed furniture-style bar cabinet with retractable pocket doors. A new awning window overlooks the backyard and brings in natural light. Many in-cabinet storage features keep this kitchen neat and organized. Bar Cabinet The furniture-style bar cabinet has retractable pocket doors and a drop-in quartz counter. The homeowners can entertain in style, leaving the doors open during parties. Guests can grab a glass of wine or make a cocktail right in the cabinet. Outlet Strips Outlet strips on the island and peninsula keeps the end panels of the island and peninsula clean. The outlet strips also gives them options for plugging in appliances during parties. Modern Farmhouse Design The design of this kitchen is modern farmhouse. The materials, patterns, color and texture define this space. We used shades of golds and grays in the cabinetry, backsplash and hardware. The chevron backsplash and shiplap island adds visual interest. Custom Cabinetry This kitchen features frameless custom cabinets with light rail molding. It’s designed to hide the under cabinet lighting and angled plug molding. Putting the outlets under the cabinets keeps the backsplash uninterrupted. Storage Features Efficient storage and organization was important to these homeowners. We opted for deep drawers to allow for easy access to stacks of dishes and bowls. Under the cooktop, we used custom drawer heights to meet the homeowners’ storage needs. A third drawer was added next to the spice drawer rollout. Narrow pullout cabinets on either side of the cooktop for spices and oils. The pantry rollout by the double oven rotates 90 degrees. Other Updates Staircase – We updated the staircase with a barn wood newel post and matte black balusters Fireplace – We whitewashed the fireplace and added a barn wood mantel and pilasters.

Из исходных данный у нас было, отделённое монолитной стеной, пространство кухни, зона спальни с большой светлой лоджией и панорамными окнами, дающими хорошее естественное освещение и общий санузел, который мы разделили на два. И довольно обширная зона с двумя окнами посередине квартиры, которая и представляла основную загвоздку. Из этого пространства нам нужно было создать, по заданию заказчиков, две вместительные детские комнаты и из оставшегося пространство создать холл-гостиную. Так же рядом со входом в квартиру необходимо было расположить гардеробную комнату. Исходя из этих условия мы и провели всю перепланировку. Главная идея проекта - создать лёгкий и светлый интерьер с настроением французской современной квартиры, артистическими азиатскими деталями и цветными пятнами. Спроектировать традиционное пространство на основе классических элементов, наполнив его азиатскими нотками, которые очень любят владельцы, ведь Азия - их излюбленное направление для путешествий, хоть в душе, по характеру и стилю жизни они «утончённые европейцы». Гостиная - светлое обволакивающее пространство с обтекаемой элегантной мебелью, и графичными тёмными линиями декора и подвесного светильника, перекликающихся с росчерками искусства. Монотонное умиротворяюще пространство, где по вечерам собирается семья. Здесь мы отдали предпочтение контрасту фактур рыхлого текстиля мебели и гладких поверхностей. В спальне мы создали более экстравагантную атмосферу. Внесли на чистую классическую основу штрихи азиатского колорита, который так любят владельцы. Ширму-изголовье кровати украшает ручная роспись на шёлке по мотивам шинуазри, а подвесные светильники в изголовье кровати напоминают завитки иероглифов. Кухня так же имеет восточные элементы. Светильники авторства Alexis Dornier, изготовленные ограниченным тиражом из переработанной рисовой бумаги, расположенные над столом, мы собственноручно привезли с острова Бали в чемодане. Чего не сделаешь для любимых заказчиков! Кухонная мебель выполнена в двух оттенках - коралловом и ментоловом. Массивный тёмный стол и граничные силуэты стульев задают ритм, создают контраст и продолжают тему, заданную в гостиной. Так же в квартире расположены два санузла - ванная комната и душевая. Ванная комната «для девочек» декорирована мрамором и выполнена в нежных пудровых оттенках. Санузел для главы семейства - яркий, а душевая напоминает открытый балийский душ в тропических зарослях. Детские комнаты для двух девочек тоже спроектированы в нежных оттенках, имеют много места для хранения и письменные столы для занятий и кровати, изголовье которых расположено в нише, для создания ощущения защищённости и комфорта. Подвесные светильники авторства ONG CEN KUANG, созданные из текстильных молний для одежды мы так же привезли сами для заказчиков с острова Бали. Цветовая палитра проекта разнообразна, но в то же время отчасти сдержана. Нам хотелось добавить цветовые акценты, создать радостный, сочный интерьер, так подходящий по темпераменту заказчикам. Мы использовали несколько цветовых схем, но в тоже время собирая пространство воедино, с помощью нейтральных фоновых оттенков стен во всех комнатах, это хорошая основа для воплощения любого интерьера и соединения всех пространств в единый образ. В гостевом санузле мы позволили себе шалость и покрасили стены в глубокий оттенок зелени. Далее через время и исходя из своих ощущений, меняющихся с течением жизни, заказчики смогут изменять настроение интерьера заменяя искусство в интерьере, текстиль и некоторые предметы, для этого мы намеренно оставили такую возможность. Во всей квартире мы используем приточно-вытяжную вентиляцию и кондиционирования. На наш взгляд это очень важно с точки зрения здоровья и комфорта жильцов. Так же в кухне мы отказались от навесной верхней вытяжки, использую варочную поверхность Elica NIKOLATESLA со встроенной в неё вытяжкой, это визуально облегчает композицию, убирая верхние шкафы. Как мы рассказывали ранее, 5 светильников для наших заказчиков мы привезли с острова Бали. Мы очень сдружились со всем семейством и нам захотелось привнести что-то необычное и эксклюзивное в интерьер. Поэтому находясь в командировке на другом нашем Балийском объекте, мы выделили несколько дней на поиски и подобрали для интерьера эти классные предметы с другого конца света, которые в итоге еле-еле поместились в огромный чемодан и были заботливо доставлены нами собственноручно в Москву.

A living room, often referred to as a lounge room in Australia and New Zealand, is the hub of the home. If you only have one living room in the house, it’s likely to serve multiple purposes: be it a place to watch TV, play games, spend quality time with family or hang out with friends. If you have the luxury of two living areas, one is usually a formal living room or lounge room, reserved for reading, relaxing and entertaining. A successful living room design is inviting, has enough seating for the whole clan – a comfortable couch is a must – and encourages conversation. Which living room layouts will work best for you?

Every living area will have design challenges. A long, narrow lounge room, for example, risks looking like a hallway if furniture is lined up against the walls. Instead, opt for small furniture items, like a cosy two-seater couch, and create various focal points throughout the space. In square living rooms, a symmetrical layout encourages a formal setting. Place seating on either side of the room, with a focal point in the middle to pull the room together. For a truly intimate vibe, replace your couch with some occasional chairs positioned around a coffee table or ottoman. This will make the main focus conversation. An open-plan home – one where the lines are blurred between kitchen, dining and living – may require a layout that focuses on definition. You’ll want to make sure furniture doesn’t block the flow between spaces, and instead use something like an area rug to create zones.

How can you decorate your living room?

The living room can be a place in which to show off your personality, but if you want a timeless living room scheme, stick to neutral walls, couches and ottomans. Colour can be added through accessories, and is a lot more interchangeable! Rugs, cushions and throws are great for adding colour, while mirrors, lamps and ceiling lights will set the mood. Make your living room unique by including family heirlooms and photos. For a polished look, try creating a coffee table vignette – you could use books as pedestals or group items together on a tray. Try adding a vase, a mixture of round and rectangular objects and some books.

What are some small living room ideas?

Small living room designs can be tricky to work with, but aren’t doomed to fail. Often, you just have to get creative with furniture. An open-back chaise can create a sense of spaciousness, while small side tables paired together can substitute a coffee table. Even better, an ottoman can be used as a footrest, coffee table or extra seating. Big furniture items like the couch are best kept in light colours, and if there’s room for a coffee table, a glass-top one is best. If you have two spaces in one – perhaps your living room sits in front of a single-wall kitchen – make sure they are connected by decor, colour and style. For definition, just add area rugs, or use your couch as a dividing wall. It’s worth having a few furniture pieces, whether a bookshelf, couch or entertainment unit, in the same colour as the walls, too, so they blend into the room and visually expand the space.

Is open-plan living for you?

Today’s homes often embrace open-plan living, whereby the living room runs off the kitchen and/or dining areas. Open-plan living allows greater functionality, but can risk creating a vast, soulless space if not done right. To avoid a cavernous feel in an open-plan design, define areas with furniture, rugs and lighting, or consider using a wall divider. Also be sure to keep flooring, lighting and materials consistent throughout, for cohesiveness. Noise may be an issue – someone banging pots and pans while you’re watching TV, for example – so include lots of soft furnishings, such as rugs, curtains and couches to help absorb the noise. You will also need to factor in plenty of storage, so mess is kept at bay.
