This is an Appalachian-style mountain chalet in Virginia with a hybrid timber framed roof. The beams are Select & Btr. Douglas Fir, and the roof is a ridge and rafter timber roof with primary purlins (not pictured). The fireplace is a woodstove insert, and the flue is wrapped in copper. You always wanted a 24' tall Christmas tree, right?

Eames lounge chair and herman miller sofa combined with contemporary glass tables are combined for the perfect balance of old and new in this historic space. The glass 'windows' are the building's original storefront doors repurposed.
Margery Wedderburn Interiors
There is a dreamy quality about this stunning Federal period-style Charlottesville home that mentally transports one to faraway lands of blissful relaxation. Our studio preserved this romantic ambience by paying careful attention to detail in every room. We carefully assigned perfect spaces for the client’s treasured antiques and decor items. The foyer is a definitive highlight of the home, where the walls are faux-painted with continuous exterior views of the incredible mountains in the distance of this stately home. Cozy furnishings, beautiful window treatments, and exquisite rugs add an elegant, romantic touch.

RJA Design
This project was purposefully neutralized in ocean grays and blues with accents that mirror a drama filled sunset. This achieves a calming effect as the sun rises in the early morning. At high noon we strived for balance of the senses with rich textures that both soothe and excite. Under foot is a plush midnight ocean blue rug that emulates walking on water. Tactile fabrics and velvet pillows provide interest and comfort. As the sun crescendos, the oranges and deep blues in both art and accents invite you and the night to dance inside your home. Lighting was an intriguing challenge and was solved by creating a delicate balance between natural light and creative interior lighting solutions.
