This intimate, interconnected landscape gives these homeowners three spaces that make being outside a joy. Under the deck the stucco walls wrap around a patio, creating a perfect place for a cool refuge from hot summer days. A custom-made fountain is integrated into the wall, a bed of lush flowers is woven into the bluestone, and a view to the surrounding landscape is framed by the posts of the deck above. The rear patio is made of large bluestone pieces. Grassy seams between the stone soften the hard surface. Towering evergreens create privacy, drifts of colorful perennials surround the seat walls, and clumps of Aspen trees define the entrance to this enchanting outdoor room.

Here is another garden landscape with a different feel and design. It has a very organic feel to it, almost as if Mother Nature created it herself. The low growing plants slightly overhang the pathway, which further enhances the natural tone. The small plants in between the paving stones suggest that this path is very much part of the natural world. This is a very rustic design style and works extremely well when you wish to give parts of your garden less of that man made look.

Wattlebird Eco was commissioned to furnish and style this rustic outdoor space for a family with two young children. The brief was to make it more habitable and functional for relaxing together as a family. With the client’s input, we chose to utilise existing outdoor wicker chairs that had weathered beautifully, and updating them with new cushions upholstered in quality outdoor fabric with green credentials. Locally sourced timber logs were brought in as stools and side tables and their flourishing little veggie cart was brought closer to the scene to get the kids more involved with harvesting their own leafy greens. A locally made hammock chair swings in the breeze inviting some quiet reading when time permits!
