This study room was created by removing a wall and replacing it with Crittall style folding glass doors opening up the space making it feel much larger. We built wall to wall, floor to ceiling bookcases for the client's many books and created a faux fireplace painted to look like black marble. A large white silk lamp shade hangs from the ceiling. A Gallery wall of art work and a mid century burnt orange wingback chair complete the room.

Conception d'un projet à Moscou dans un appartement soviétique. Avec ce projet, j'ai participé une émission télévisée sur la chaîne russe TNT. Pour mettre en valeur les meubles rétro que j’ai conservé j’ai joué avec les couleurs et la lumière ce qui a permis d’allier ancien et modernité, de rénover en préservant l’âme de l’appartement. We chose a beautiful inky blue for this London Living room to feel fresh in the daytime when the sun streams in and cozy in the evening when it would otherwise feel quite cold. The colour also complements the original fireplace tiles. We took the colour across the walls and woodwork, including the alcoves, and skirting boards, to create a perfect seamless finish. Balanced by the white floor, shutters and lampshade there is just enough light to keep it uplifting and atmospheric. The final additions were a complementary green velvet sofa, luxurious touches of gold and brass and a glass table and mirror to make the room sparkle by bouncing the light from the metallic finishes across the glass and onto the mirror

The now open space kitchen/dining/living has a plaster ribbon-like low shelf – designed to hide structural oddities – with bookshelves on either sides and a flush stone inset with an eco fireplace that become the focal point of the space with the highest ceiling.
