The homeowner wanted a small landing and staircase for his patio entry door, a sliding door with only one side that opened. He wanted something aesthetically pleasing but it couldn't take up too much room. By utilizing the space between the door and where the fireplace juts out we were able to construct a landing large enough for a comfortable entry/exit but it wouldn't take over the patio space. Angling the steps to converge in to each other offered an aesthetic solution to the odd angles created by the landing, and made it feel like the deck truly belonged there.

This line kitchen exudes modern style with its clean lines and mixture of grey painted stainless steel and frosted glass. It beautifully compliments the indoor living space with its window feature wall, making a seamless transition from the indoors to the outdoors.

Pete's Precision PhotoThe cottage style exterior of this newly remodeled ranch in Connecticut, belies its transitional interior design. The exterior of the home features wood shingle siding along with pvc trim work, a gently flared beltline separates the main level from the walk out lower level at the rear. Also on the rear of the house where the addition is most prominent there is a cozy deck, with maintenance free cable railings, a quaint gravel patio, and a garden shed with its own patio and fire pit gathering area.

This deck extended the small concrete patio area on the side yard. This made it a usable entertainment space for the homeowner. - Matt Unger
