This uniquely designed home in Seattle, Washington recently underwent a dramatic transformation that provides both a fresh new aesthetic and improved functionality. Renovations on this home went above and beyond the typical “face-lift” of the home remodel project and created a modern, one-of-a-kind space perfectly designed to accommodate the growing family of the homeowners.
Along with creating a new aesthetic for the home, constructing a dwelling that was both energy efficient and ensured a high level of comfort were major goals of the project. To this end, the homeowners selected A5h Windows and Doors with triple-pane glazing which offers argon-filled, low-E coated glass and warm edge spacers within an all-aluminum frame. The hidden sash option was selected to provide a clean and modern aesthetic on the exterior facade. Concealed hinges allow for a continuous air seal, while premium stainless-steel handles offer a refined contemporary touch.
Thermally Broken Steel USA
Shown here is our custom, narrow framed steel fire-rated windows that we furnished for this beautiful reading area located on a rooftop in NYC. The room also features a custom thermally broken steel door, motorized awnings, a wall garden, and a rustic iron spiral staircase.

This double-wide striped kilim creates an added layer of interest in this home office, where a Brasilia mcm dresser is used to store vintage fabrics and sewing notions.
More on the rug: This hand-woven kilim is a multi-colored stripe in a light wool. Like many vintage rugs woven in a weaver's home, kilims tend to be narrow and long rather than wide and square. To make their size more amenable to a living area, weavers will actually weave TWO pieces, and then sew them together in the middles. It is certainly not a technique you find in modern rugs and is all the more evidence of the tradition, craft and culture that goes into making handmade rugs.

Raeburn Signature from the Modin LVP Collection: Inspired by summers at the cabin among redwoods and pines. Weathered rustic notes with deep reds and subtle grays.

This lady's office off the master bedroom is small but packed with everything one needs to work efficiently. Midcentury modern pieces were blended seamlessly with other styles. The two-sided fireplace provide ambiance and a bit of privacy.

I had a blast working on this personal project. My partner, Alex, is working from home and I needed a space where I could be creative but also put in the hard work. We had 100sf, a budget of "as-cheap-as-possible," and tons of rental restrictions--but good design always starts with a little problem solving, right?
I infused the space with lots of neutral colors and tons of texture to keep it warm. I threw in my favorite vintage pieces, a big oversized paper lantern, and a bookshelf bar for some soul. & just like that, it's our favorite spot in town.

The Happiest Office design was created for our full-time remote working client. They asked us to convert their camper into an office, that could easily convert back to a camper for weekend adventures.
We took inspiration from the punchy orange exterior of the Happier Camper and added even more California flair to it with an amazing (and fully removable) poppy wallpaper.
We wanted to create a secondary space for our client, so that she could have a change of scenery mid-day or space to relax in-between calls and soak up the CA rays. We designed a cozy sitting area out back, with a pair of black modern rocking chairs and black and white rug. On cooler days, work gets done with the back hatch open looking out onto her outdoor living room, essentially doubling the size of her office space. The monochromatic outdoor furniture design is accented with hints of orange and yellow, and an embroidered poppy pillow completes the look.
We love a great multi-functional design! Design never needs to be sterile and small spaces do not need to feel cramped! Let us help you make your space everything you've imagined, and more!
