Blending a modern sensibility with traditional architecture, this garden features a front yard meadow with native grasses (Carex praecracilis) and wildflowers. Poured-in-place concrete pavers in a meandering pattern slow the approach from the sidewalk to the entry. The modestly-sized backyard has been maximized for entertaining with outdoor dining and lounging areas and subtle landscape lighting. Native plants, herbs, and edibles share the back garden beds, and a raised pond brings the garden to life.

We used a Silvermist Boulder and Mexican Beach Pebbles to build a soothing water feature that also attracts birds and other pollinators. The herb garden that surrounds it does double duty for the homeowner who loves to cook!
Eisler Landscapes
This city garden is nestled in the heart of the Mexican War Streets, but you would never know that a city was just outside its gates. Arbors and specimen serviceberries serve as a screening and create a transitional space between the street and the inner courtyard. A stone patio, two water features and lush plantings complete the relaxing retreat.
Imperfect Interiors
This lovely Victorian house in Battersea was tired and dated before we opened it up and reconfigured the layout. We added a full width extension with Crittal doors to create an open plan kitchen/diner/play area for the family, and added a handsome deVOL shaker kitchen.

a raised deck was added so that a new corner spa could be nestled into the garden and be seat height, eliminating the need for steps up to a tall hot tub. A removable section of the deck allows access to the mechanical panel in the spa. A cut-corner spa was selected to allow more circulation around the spa. Custom lattice panels with a narrow trellis top complete the spa experience and provide privacy from adjacent houses in this tiny urban garden.

Plain grassy corner of backyard gets a landscape makeover with some evergreens to screen surrounding neighbors.

This is the same home as in our summer color featured project but this is how beautiful the same space can look in the "dead" of winter with the correct use of foliage and proper care.
