A bespoke, purple painted clawfoot bathtub delighted our clients and creates an unforgettable bathroom experience. This spacious master bathroom is bright and elegant. It features white Calacatta marble tile on the floor, wainscoting treatment, and enclosed glass shower. The same Calacatta marble is also used on the two vanity countertops. Our crew spent time planning out the installation of the gorgeous water-jet floor tile insert, as well as the detailed Calacatta slab wall treatment in the shower. This stunning, marble topped vanity unit from Porter Bathroom provides so much storage. Combined with a custom mirror cabinet which we designed and had made, there is a place for everything in this beautiful family bathroom.

The home was built in the early 1920’s , and remodeled in the 1970s. It desperately cried to bring it back to its original century. We pulled out the old tub/shower combo and installed beautiful clawfoot tubs with a nice wainscot tile that really helped bring the crisp style to light.

After many years of careful consideration and planning, these clients came to us with the goal of restoring this home’s original Victorian charm while also increasing its livability and efficiency. From preserving the original built-in cabinetry and fir flooring, to adding a new dormer for the contemporary master bathroom, careful measures were taken to strike this balance between historic preservation and modern upgrading. Behind the home’s new exterior claddings, meticulously designed to preserve its Victorian aesthetic, the shell was air sealed and fitted with a vented rainscreen to increase energy efficiency and durability. With careful attention paid to the relationship between natural light and finished surfaces, the once dark kitchen was re-imagined into a cheerful space that welcomes morning conversation shared over pots of coffee. Every inch of this historical home was thoughtfully considered, prompting countless shared discussions between the home owners and ourselves.
