This master bathroom was completely gutted from the original space and enlarged by modifying the entry way. The bay window area was opened up with the use of free standing bath from Kohler. This allowed for a tall furniture style linen cabinet to be added near the entry for additional storage. The his and hers vanities are seperated by a beautiful mullioned glass cabinet and each person has a unique space with their own arched cubby lined in a gorgeous mosaic tile. The room was designed around a pillowed Elon Durango Limestone wainscot surrounding the space with an Emperado Dark 16x16 Limestone floor and slab countertops. A nice rev-a-shelf accessory pull-out for make-up products, hair dryer, curling irons and more was installed in this master bathroom remodel and renovation project located in Phoenix, Arizona.

The coffered floor was inspired by the coffered ceilings in the rest of the home. To create it, 18" squares of Calcutta marble were honed to give them an aged look and set into borders of porcelain tile that mimics walnut beams. Because there is radiant heat underneath, the floor stays toasty all year round. For the cabinetry, the goal was to create units that looked like they were heirloom pieces of furniture that had been rolled into the room. To emphasize this impression, castors were custom-made for the walnut double-sink vanity with Botticino marble top. There are two framed and recessed medicine cabinets in the wall above. The designer was going for a soft, comfortable, but elegant coastal home look ... and she got it just right in this master bathroom. The free standing tub is framed by the striking split face stack stone travertine wall - absolutely gorgeous. Behind the stacked wall is a walk-in shower with lots of room and sunlight. The sun coming in actually warms the floor. We have Ivory travertine floors for the bathroom and shower walls and a 4 x 4 travertine for the shower floor. The bathroom vanity tops are a polished seashell limestone, a natural seashell limestone, made with Shell Reef. The same limestone is on the bench tops. What a great job of pulling all these details together.

An unexpected mix of stone surfaces gives the large, tradition Master Bathroom an air of permanence and elegance. This showcase bathrooms created with an experimental blend of numerous stones- all in the marble and limestone families, by mixing the warmth and the cool tones naturally. The creamy Limestone countertops fill the design and brings warmth and cheer to it. A serpentine mosaic on the adjacent wall runs above the edge of the oval tub. Although the mix of white, gray and gold might seem unusual, the finish effect is one of the turn-of-the-century European elegance.
