This gorgeous Turramurra kitchen displays the best of both modern and traditional features. It exhibits the warmth, character and grandeur of a traditional kitchen whilst maintaining all the trappings of modern kitchens. When Art of Kitchens were commissioned to design and build this kitchen, the home was yet unbuilt making it important that our kitchen design closely adhered to the Traditional/Modern style of the proposed home. “We needed to work with the idea of what the complete project would look like rather than using the existing frame for inspiration,” said Kitchen Designer David Bartlett. Keen entertainers, the homeowners wanted a kitchen that could be filled with family and friends without the space feeling overcrowded. Featuring multiple working zones, a large scullery for preparation and cleanup, high ceilings and overlooking a tranquil alfresco area, this large kitchen works perfectly for large groups. The high ceilings created a sense of airiness and allowed for ample storage space with tall cabinets. The addition of open shelving and breakfast bar resulted in a stunning open plan, functional kitchen that is perfect for entertaining that ties well into the overall aesthetic for the home. The end result was a runner up in the 2017 HIA CSR NSW Kitchen awards.

Unassuming Storage building? Guess again. This gorgeous custom wine cellar, designed and built by wine cellar design experts, Vintage Cellars, shows that you can outfit virtually any space to be a one of a kind, perfect place for wine storage. Here in Laguna Beach, Orange County California, the temperatures stay pretty nice year round. Through the magic of wine cellar vapor barrier and insulation, the design build team at Vintage Cellars was able to properly prepare this outbuilding to store over 1700 collectible wines. Working closely with the client, we were able to understand that although display is nice - uncompromising long term storage was the overarching goal. Sweeping throughout the room above, individual bottle storage reigns to maximize bottle count. At about chest height, you can see two rows of angled high reveal display. Here, the homeowner placed his prized bottles - just a glimpse of what this incredible collection holds. Directly in the center of this medium sized wine room lies a small peninsula - a small section jetting out where larger format bottles are kept atop, as well as more space below in individual bottle storage. A small tabletop can be utilized to open wines or to let your favorites decant while you peruse the gems throughout. Below again is more individual bottle storage, sitting atop gorgeous Mediterranean style tile. Another unique feature of this wine cellar / wine room / wine storage space / wine closet / wine shed / wine vault / custom wine cellar / custom wine room / custom wood wine cellar / redwood wine cellar is the bridge across the top of the door. Often, this space can be overlooked, but the experts at Vintage Cellars are seasoned in delivering a desired end result. We were able to squeeze in another 100 bottles above the doorframe - and it looks fantastic. Utilizing their knowledge of the collection, Vista Wine Cellars designed the cabinets to have display shelves in the cabinet to feature these special bottles. Lighting and label-forward, angled racking were installed to highlight and easily display the names of these wines. Using warm white LED strip lights from EnvironmentalLights.com, they were able to create a custom lighting system to fit the cabinet design. LED strip lights are sold in reels of 5 meters (16.4 feet) and are cuttable in increments of 50 mm (1.97 inches), so they are perfect for custom designs. Strip lighting is available in a variety of white color temperatures, such as very warm white (2,400°K), warm white (2,700°K), neutral white (4,000°K) and daylight white (6,500°K).
